Talk:Los Santos in GTA III Era

"With all of the street and gang violence, working girls, corrupt cops, and strip clubs/pornography, the name of the city is considered a joke in the game." What Is That Supposed to Mean???-Mcanmoocanu 23:11, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

"Los Santos" is Spanish for "The Saints", so it could be a joke, as most people in the city are hardly "saints" (good people) at all. Sgt. S.S. 10:55, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

I see where you're coming from, but I think the city was named Los Santos as a reference to the city it's based on, Los Angeles, which means 'the angels'. MAINEiac4434 16:59, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Well, isn't there a chance it could be both? Sgt. S.S. 20:04, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Of course. MAINEiac4434 20:22, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

"It's possible that in the GTA IV era, Ganton, Idlewood, East Los Santos, East Beach and Santa Maria (which are based off Compton, Inglewood, East Los Angeles, Long Beach and Santa Monica, which are separate from Los Angeles but are part of it's metro area.) are separate cities from Los Santos, but are part of it's metropolitan area, to coincide with the real-life Los Angeles Metro Area."

What ??? It's absolutly not comfirmed !!! --GTAJJJ 18:40, 24 April 2011 (BST)

Beverly Wilshire vs. Biltmore (Pershing Square)

In the Pershing Square section, it's mentioned that there are versions of both the (real-life) Beverly Wilshire Hotel and the Biltmore Hotel (Pershing Square). What I see in the actual game though is only one building - the one directly across from City Hall. In some ways it resembles both (they're both E-shaped buildings), but the awnings on the first floor more resemble the Beverly Wilshire. But all 3 wings of the E are the same size, which is more like the Biltmore (It seems that the middle part of the E on the Wilshire is smaller). So, what I think is, there's just one building that's sort of a conglomeration of the two hotels. Unless i'm just missing the other hotel somewhere else in the game.

Los Santos, Los Santos

Is there a separate page for the district of Los Santos? The name shows up on some of the areas around the Docks and the LSI airport... --NssJ 07:06, 17 October 2011 (BST)

This is a good point. The city name shows whenever you're not in a specific district. This is more obvious in Vice City, where the player's location shows as 'Vice City' when they're on bridges or at sea. As for having a separate article for these 'other' areas, is there much detail needed that can't fit into this article? If something is pretty much in a district, or just outside it, we should just put it in that district's page (with perhaps a note explaining). We need to figure out what people would be looking for, and where they'd expect to find that information. That's more important than being technically accurate to the millimetre. gboyers talk 02:38, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
