The VCPD Wintergreen is a Vice City Police Department police motorcycle that appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is based on the civilian Wintergreen, or the real life police Harley Davidson Electra Glide. This is an excellent vehicle for drive-bys while in Vigilante missions, as the player may shoot forwards, although this is difficult when with punctured tires or when the player falls off of the bike.

The Bullet is a sports car in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The Bullet is not to be confused with the Bullet GT, a presumably enhanced variant of the Bullet in The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Description
Design
Its shape closely resembles a Ford GT, making the car an anachronism; the GT wasn't introduced until 2002, ten years after the game takes place. The Ford GT40 was used as a racecar in the 1960s, but bears less of a resemblance to the Bullet. In a beta screenshot of GTA San Andreas, the Bullet is seen with a double stripe and a different hood, identical to that on the real Ford GT, the beta model is also portrayed in some renderings inside of Otto's Autos, a showroom in Downtown San Fierro. The change to a single stripe in the actual game may have been aimed at avoiding a blatantly obvious design influence from a car that wouldn't exist for another 10 years.

Performance
Acceleration, speed, handling, and braking are among the best in the game. The only real sacrifice is susceptibility to intense damage upon impact, especially at the excessive speeds the vehicle is capable of reaching. The vehicle is mid-engine, rear-drive. A closer look at the engine shows six injector trumpets, suggesting that the engine is actually a V6 instead of a V8.

Locations
* At the Driving School in Doherty, San Fierro after achieving silver medals in all the schools tests. The car constantly appears with an all-white body color.
* In a factory carpark in Doherty, San Fierro
* Can be seen driven on The Strip.
* Located at Burger Shot in Calton Heights, San Fierro. The car constantly appears with unique a gray body color and brown stripe.
* Available at Easter Basin docks, San Fierro for import after third list completion, for $84,000 on Saturday
Trivia
* In GTA San Andreas, the default radio station in the Bullet is SF-UR.
* Certain Bullets in GTA San Andreas acquired through unconventional means may bear special vanity plates:
**
TOO FAST
(Easter Basin docks)
**
CHUNKY
(Burger Shot, San Fierro)

speculation
Ratman is a rat-like creature in GTA IV. He is a very debated myth since many people cannot find him and many believe he's just another non-existent myth, like Bigfoot.Others think he is a homeless person mistaken for a "ratman". He is said to live underground in the subway, near the abandoned subway station. He runs faster than the NRG 900 and it is said that if you shoot him he will come back and kill you. When you're dead, he supposedly nibbles on your face until you return to the nearest hospital.

NotYouHahahttps://www.grandtheftwiki.com/index.php?title=Tear_Gas&diff=83864Tear Gas2009-01-31T05:26:13Z
NotYouHaha: /* GTA San Andreas */ --adding another location

In real life, tear gas is generally considered to be a non-lethal weapon, but in the world of GTA, it's anything but. Granted, it does take prolonged exposure to the gas to kill, but in confined spaces, this can be arranged. However, seeing as the gas causes people to stop what their doing while they cover their face and cough, the most practical use for this weapon is to slow enemies down while you escape or switch to another weapon. In any case, this stuff opens up some strategy options when it otherwise seems you're heavily outgunned.

In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, by deploying the Tear Gas too close to the player, he too, will lose health from the noxious gas, and the longer he stays there, the greater he loses his health, thus dying, much like other pedestrians. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the Tear Gas can be found at the runway in Las Venturas Airport behind two parked Dodo planes, and on the tarmac at KACC. By obtaining it, this can be used to attack pedestrians with gas, while the player is unaffected and can freely walk around the gas, until the smoke subsides. By dropping more Tear Gas, the smoke will be longer and any pedestrians or cops enters the smoke will be choked on by the toxic gas until finally dying.

Introduction
This is a page basically about parking. It's your choice, read it or not. It has some tips and tricks on parking in the GTA World.

Basics
The right Vehicle
Before you park, pick the right vehicle for your space. If you are rather clumsy, pick a small slow vehicle, like the Manana. If you're really experienced, then I guess you can use the Infernus. Also, you can use a bike to park in short spaces.

The Space
Next, pick the space. The easy place is a car park, as the spaces are easily marked. Many GTA cities have lots of multistoreys, especially San Andreas. If you can master it, then move to the streets, try parking on the roads. Also, think about the size of the space. If you have a Stretch, don't park in a short space meant for a Faggio. Instead, park in a space around the size of four Patriots parked together.

Types of Parking Styles
Marked out Parking
This is easy way. Just turn into the space straight.

Diagonal Park
This is usually on the streets. The spaces are marked.

Parallel Park
This is really hard! It's best if you do it on a quiet neighborhood street. Just turn the wheel either left or right and reverse (depending on which direction the space is) and once you reach the curb turn the car the opposite direction depending on which side you're on. Then, if it's possible, go forward.

Obstructions and problems
Other Cars
Beware of the other cars while you're parking! Just clipping or lightly touching it can set off the alarm.(If it has one).

The Sidewalk and Pedestrians
You also must be aware of the other people around you if the space is near a sidewalk or a space where people can easily walk. Make sure you don't go over the curb when you park.

Traffic
This is one of the biggest things of obstructions in parking. Normally in the real world they wait before honking their horn. But in GTA it seems they don't bother about parkers. Usually after 5-10 seconds they start plowing through, ready or not. They might also shout at you like "Drive with some balls!" or "Let's get going!" (These two are examples from GTA IV)
NotYouHahahttps://www.grandtheftwiki.com/index.php?title=Out_of_Commission&diff=125033Out of Commission2008-11-07T05:58:56Z
NotYouHaha: spelling

Cleanup
This is the final mission of the "Revenge" ending of the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. After the wedding, Little Jacob is planning Niko's revenge on Jimmy Pegorino for Kate's death.

Walkthrough
Car Chase
Get to Jacob and Roman in a car in Alderney City. Get inside. Jacob and Roman point to a mysterious car nearby; they're Jimmy Pegorino's men.

Make a U-Turn. It looks like a U-Turn is impossible, but Jimmy's men will shoot the cars tyres tires up a bit to make this U-Turn easier. Drive after Jimmy's goons. The chase will finish in Northern Alderney near Leftwood. Be careful not to send the car into flames by then.

A cutscene will show the car sliding onto its side on the outside of Jimmy's mansion (must be a joke; the "mansion" is really an abandoned casino). Niko, Jacob, and Roman will take cover behind the car. Niko orders Jacob to leave and take "care" of Roman.

Revenge
Walk forward and use the crates of salt as cover. Use a rocket launcher if you have one, or grenades to shoot the cover that the goons are using. Take out the rest of them with an SMG or assault rifle.

Niko will get a text message from Jacob saying "keep your eyes on the sky" for an escape. When Niko gets this message, he should be near the casino's door. Take cover on the right side of it and take out the guard on the stairs. Take cover on the left side and use a rocket launcher, assault rifle, or batch of grenades to take out the rest of the goons. Go into the room at the back left of the casino.

Pegorino will run up a fire escape screaming, "You idiot! Don't think that this was anyone's fault but your own!" Then he leaps out of the sky door. Chase him and to the same. Don't shoot Jimmy - he has infinite health at this point. Focus only on killing the goons, some of them have a nice, bloody death.

Jump off the building and take immediate cover. Shoot the last of the goons and run. Use a rocket launcher or grenades and shoot a car that will come and assassinate Niko. Now Niko's killed the last of Jimmy's goons in Alderney.

Find Jimmy in a nearby boat and get on the motorcycle beside it. Stick to the coastline - don't lose Jimmy! It might be a bit hard to drive on the sand but don't worry about it. This is not the main point of worrying.

The helicopter that Jacob was talking about will pass over Niko's head. Roman will be blabbing about chasing Jimmy without Niko, but Niko wins the argument. Go as fast as possible off a huge jump and Niko will land on the helicopter platform most likely.

Work onto the helicopter and close the door. Try to shoot Jimmy, but that's going to be hard. Jacob gets a rocket launcher shot into Jimmy's boat and Jimmy gets a rocket launcher shot into the helicopter.

Both the boat and the helicopter brutally crash and explode at Happiness Island. There will be a few of Pegorino's goons on the island - but not as many goons as cops. Niko will get a 2-star wanted level; just ignore the cops and walk up to Jimmy.

Kill Jimmy Pegorino. Before Jimmy dies, he calls Niko a "dip shit". Niko says that Jon Gravelli, Jimmy's associate, thought Pegorino was a "fat f***ing joke." Pegorino points his pistol at Niko's head but Niko turns around and quickly shoots Pegorino down between the eyes.

Congratulations, you have passed GTA IV in a bloody kind of way!

featured

The Banshee is a two-seater sports car introduced in Grand Theft Auto III.

Overview
The Banshee is front-engine, rear-drive and boasts the deep rumble of 10 cylinders. In Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas it resembles a first-generation '90s Viper RT/10 (more curvilinear design; dual single-exhaust ports, although the Banshee is narrower in width and has a different headlight design), whereas in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories it looks to be a 1980's Corvette C4 (more angular design; dual double-exhaust ports). The '90s Viper RT/10 version is the only top-down convertible that the player cannot jump into without opening the driver door.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, the Banshee resembles a 2003-2006 Dodge Viper Coupe, but with shrunken and differently designed headlights. Despite the real Viper having a V10 engine, the Banshee has a 300ci twin-turbocharged V8 in GTA IV, according to Brucie's website AutoEroticar. The GTA IV version of the Banshee is manufactured by Bravado, the game's rendition of Dodge.
The Banshee is also one of the cars requested from Brucie for his Exotic Imports and one for Stevie for his Car Theft Missions.

The Banshee's acceleration, speed, and braking are among the best in its class, but this often comes at the expense of handling, especially at high speeds.
Surprisingly the Banshee in GTA IV doesn't have side windows, but the alarm will still come on if you open the door.
A modification is an alteration to a game. Grand Theft Auto modifications are created by fans after the game's release, and are not authorized or endorsed by Rockstar Games. Modifications can be obtained from many Grand Theft Auto websites and fansites.

Almost all modifications are entirely free, and may be downloaded and used by anybody. However, there are restrictions on editing and distributing the modification, so always ask permission from the author.

Modifications are mainly only used on PC versions of Grand Theft Auto games. There are methods of modifying console versions, but these are complex and usually break the license agreement of the game and games console.

Downloading Mods
Many GTA Fansites are excellent places to look for different types of mods. See Different Types of Modifications for examples of some of the things mods can do. Also, be sure to read the Disclaimer.

Creating Modifications
There are many tutorials for modifying simple aspects of the game, ranging from altering the color/handling of a vehicle, to editing textures. These are simple once you understand them, and can easily be fixed if you make sure you backup what you change.

However, creating more advanced modifications (such as entire buildings or cars) is trickier, and usually requires some advance experience in creating models for games. Google SketchUp is a good program for creating building models. 3DS Max, Lightwave and Zmodeller are also used.

It is strongly advised that you do not attempt to do more than you are capable of. Do not expect to be able to recreate your favorite car in a few hours, many modifications take months.

Different Types of Modifications
Some modifications are very simple and superficial, such as changing clothing on the player, or the colors of cars. Some modification can make playing the game easier, such as increasing the speed of vehicles or the power of weapons.

Most modifications change the look of the game. These can range from simple texture edits of buildings, characters or vehicles; to replacing buildings, characters or vehicles with entirely new ones. The market for car mods is massive, and there are many download databases with hundreds of GTA car mods.

Other modifications can help the player with the game. This could include editing the data and statistics in-game, which would allow the player to run faster, reload less, jump higher, live longer etc.

An alternative is a Trainer, which is a program that runs alongside the GTA game and manipulates the game's data stored in memory. These programs can change many different things, ranging from the player's health, armor, weapons, skill and even location; to being able to spawn vehicles, modify the current vehicle (e.g. color, damage etc) and edit vehicles stored in garages; to modifying the time, game speed and weather. Some trainers include keyboard shortcuts to allow the player to quickly activate (or deactivate) a feature whilst playing the game.

There are many modifications that alter the mission script (main.scm). These could alter details of missions or even add entirely new missions. The main.scm file is responsible for what-happens-when, so modifying it can achieve almost any effect. However, samegame files only work for one main.scm file - if it is altered, no existing savegame will work, and specific savegames created by a game with that main.scm version must be used.

Some modifications encompass many of these features at once - these are known as Total Conversions (TCs). TCs generally change everything in that GTA game, including the map, vehicles, pedestrians, players and missions. A few TC mods have been made, and there have been many more planned that have never reached a release. GTA London (not to be confused with London 1961 or 1969) was a hotly-anticipated Total Conversion for GTA Vice City. However, after a couple of packages of small-scale modifications were released, and the declining popularity of GTA:VC, the modification was discontinued. Now, GTA Great Britain is the one to watch.

Considerations
Some gamers consider modifications to spoil the integrity and theme of the game - for example, they don't think a 2005 Lamborghini belongs in a fictitious 1990s world, although you can make your own decisions on these matters.

Using modifications does not alter the status of your game like using Cheats can do. However, if you install a modification that edits or replaces the main.scm file, you will have to begin a new game, or use a provided savegame created for that specific modification.

Disclaimer
You modify your game at your own risk. There is no guarantee that all modifications you download will work, or whether the instructions will be complete. You should make yourself familiar with simple well-known modifications (such as cars) before attempting to install larger and more complex models.

Always read the instructions thoroughly, and always backup files before you edit

Katana is a melee weapon of Japanese origin. It is available in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

It is one of the more powerful melee type weapons as it has been known to slice the head off of opponents with a single slice and is not as heavy as the cumbersome chainsaw. One note of interest is in 1998, Toni Cipriani and Kazuki Kasen engage in a duel on the roof of the Big Shot Casino with katanas (though the player may choose to use other weapons.) Snakehead and CJ engage in a similar duel, which, again, allows the player to simply pull out a firearm.

The Monster is an elevated pickup truck, and is available on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It is large, along with huge wheels, and comes standard with an American Patriot style paintjob.

It is available in many places about halfway in the game. The most notable location is at the stadium after completion of the 8-Track in Los Santos. This will automatically spawn a Monster in the parking lot. The monster will also spawn in the caravan park on the second island just as you go out of Richman.

The Monster's handling is among the best on San Andreas. This is because it has four-wheel steering which is activated when the handbrake button is held. This is a great advantage when trying to complete a sharp turn with such a large vehicle. Of course, the Monster has great off-road ability, but its bouncy suspension is capable of throwing it off the road occasionally. However, it is easy to get back on track again.

There are at least 3 variants of the Monster: a standard Monster (seen in the screenshot above), a Monster based on the Yosemite chassis and sporting a spoiler and roof lights (this can be acquired by dating Michelle in San Fierro) and a Monster with no paintjob.

The Washington is a 4 door sedan found in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and Grand Theft Auto IV. It is available in many colors throughout the games except black in GTA Vice City, which is reserved for only the FBI Washington. However, the X-Box version of the game spawns the cars only in white. It can be found fairly widely throughout the map in GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.

Design
In Vice City and San Andreas, the Washington bears a similarity to a Sixth Generation Lincoln Continental but the front and back look more like a Lincoln Mark VII. In GTA IV, the Washington is now a clone of a current Lincoln Town Car L or the lengthened version of the regular town car. The headlights and grille have a slight resemblance to a 2008-present Ford Taurus.

The GTA IV version is one of the cars Stevie requests for his Car Theft missions.

Performance
Acceleration and speed are surprisingly satisfying for this large vehicle. The rear-drive Washington is powered by a V8, and handling and braking match the engine's power quite well, although fishtailing is common. Furthermore, the body is sturdy and can withstand a good deal of damage, making this an ideal drive-by vehicle. It's weight also makes it good for ramming cars out of the way, for example a police road block.

Locations
GTA San Andreas
*Driven by Mike Toreno in the mission Vertical Bird
*Toreno's ranch (save point) in Tierra Robada.

GTA Vice City Stories
*Occasionally found in the parking lot of Vice Point Mall in Vice Point, Vice City.
*Found in the parking lot behind Lance Vance's hotel in Downtown, Vice City.
*Found at the car park on the left side of Hyman Memorial Stadium
*Spawns regularly around Ocean Beach, Little Havana, and Escobar International
* It's found regularly at the car park near the VIP terminal at Escobar International.
GTA IV
* Usually found around Algonquin and Alderney
* It rarely spawns at Broker, Dukes, or Bohan.

Variations
The FBI Washington is a specialized version of this vehicle (only appearing in GTA Vice City and GTA Vice City Stories), and is the only version of the Washington in GTA Vice City that sports a black paint job. Its acceleration is quite impressive, which becomes useful for catching up to distant criminals when on a vigilante mission.
In GTA IV, a special wagon version of the Washington called the Romero is used as a hearse.
It's used in the mission Undertaker where you transport Francis Mcreary's/Derrick Mcreary's body to a cementary while avoiding a couple of Albanian goons trying to stop you.
It's handling is now moderate but it's acceleration and top speed are poor due to the added weight of the wagon body. It is avaliable at a cemetary in Algonquin.
The Sindacco Family is an Italian-American Mafia family originating from Liberty City and later based in Las Venturas.

In 1992 (the time of GTA San Andreas), they had territory in Liberty City after Sonny Forelli's death. The Sindaccos also had a stake in Caligula's Casino, alongside the Forelli and Leone families. The Sindacco family wanted to do business with the Leone family and unite the two organizations and this involved Don Salvatore Leone pledging 5 million dollars to the Sindacco family. Both outfits argued over who should run the casino, and so Ken Rosenberg (once working with the Forelli family, but then abandoned by the very powerful Vercetti Family) was put forward as a neutral party. Ken was in the middle of the three families, so if one attacked the other, Ken would most likely be the target of revenge.

The Sindacco family was formerly represented by Johnny Sindacco, who died from shock-induced heart failure in GTA San Andreas after meeting protagonist Carl Johnson for a second time. It was revealed that Johnny had previously been captured by the San Fierro Triads, tied onto a car driven by Carl and scared into revealing information. He then went into a coma, suffering a period of psychological and physical trauma. The Introduction prequel also indicates Johnny is in fact the son of the Sindacco's Don, (most likely Paulie Sindacco), as he mentioned that his father wanted to unite their organization with the Leone family. It is probable that after the Leones abandoned Caligula's Casino and returned to Liberty City, that the Sindaccos would move in.

By the end of 1998, Paulie Sindacco decided to expand further throughout Liberty City, moving into Leone family territory in Chinatown, dealing drugs. In GTA Liberty City Stories, on orders from Salvatore Leone, Toni Cipriani used J.D. O'Toole, who was running Paulie's Revue Bar in Liberty City's Red Light District for the Sindacco family, as an inside-man to help weaken the Sindaccos and claim the Red Light District and Paulie's Revue Bar (renamed Sex Club 7 by the Leones) as Leone territory. Later on, Toni Cipriani would kill Paulie Sindacco, the Don of the Sindacco family, in 1998.

After their defeat by the Leone family in the first gang war of 1998, the Sindaccos were ceased to only Torrington on Staunton Island, also starting moving into Forelli family territory in hopes of taking it over. This resulted in the third gang war of 1998, this time between the Sindaccos and the Forellis. Don Franco Forelli and Don Paulie Sindacco attempted to establish a truce between the Forelli and Sindacco families, possibly to defeat the Leones together. Before a truce could be created, however, Toni Cipriani uses a remote control device to assume control of Paulie Sindacco's car and run over dozens of Forelli family members with it. This fuelled the Sindacco family war with the Forelli family, which doesn't end until the assassination of Paulie Sindacco in Shoreside Vale later that same year and the death of Franco Forelli in the Little Italy explosion, all caused by Leone capo Tony Cipriani.

The Sindaccos also owned territory in Torrington, including The Big Shot Casino, until the Yakuza decided to expand their influence in Liberty City by taking over Torrington, and in the process The Big Shot Casino and subsequently changing its name to Kenji's Casino.

With no turf or front companies remaining in Liberty City, the Sindacco family have very little influence (if any at all) remaining in Liberty City by GTA III. The family's fate remains unknown, as their activity outside Liberty City after Paulie's death is never disclosed. It is speculated they settled permanently in Las Venturas, it being their only other known outpost.

In GTA Liberty City Stories, Sindacco members wear black shirts, black pants and brown jackets with/without sunglasses and carry pistols. In GTA San Andreas, the mobsters (presumed to be the Sindacco Family) dress in either brown leather jackets with grey pants and light blue shirts with chains, or in black jogging suits.

The NOOSE Patriot is the law enforcement version of the Patriot. The NOOSE patriot is called out along with the NOOSE Cruiser and the NOOSE van at a 4 star wanted level. NOOSE uses them to ram you and in roadblocks which are more trouble to avoid than normal LCPD cars. This is difficult to obtain, as this may require shooting away NOOSE officers, get in the car, then drive off as fast as you can to evade the radius. Unlike the normal version of the Patriot, it cannot be repaired at the Pay 'n' Spray.

Performance
The NOOSE Patriot retains the same performance as a regular Patriot, but much faster and better handling. The only differences with this version are the brand-new NOOSE paint job, new rims, LED sirens and the on-board police computer. It is suspected to flip over if attempting to execute a large jump while gaining too much speed.

The Police Car is an emergency services vehicle used by police officers. The cars begin to chase the protagonist of each Grand Theft Auto game when they have received either a police head or wanted star. In Grand Theft Auto 2, it's the only car in the game which gives a Cop Bribe when crushed.

As a collector's note, activate the "Black Traffic" cheat to make the Police Car all black. This causes the car to look somewhat like an unmarked patrol car.

Throughout all GTA III era games, it is very fast with excellent handling, used to catch up to criminals and shoot them on sight, rather than arresting them. Its durability, however, isn't very high.

In GTA IV, the player can get in a patrol car and access the in-car computer. Here, the player can look at the most wanted lists and then track down criminals. If the sirens are shot too many times, or crushed, the sound will become distorted. The player can also dial 911 to summon the police car either by requiring assistance, or by luring into a false alarm. By stealing the cop car (while the officer searches for any incidents), a one wanted star level will appear and cops will give chase, and it will be easy to evade them, as long as the player doesn't get chased by cops for an extended period of time.

featured

The Ambulance is an emergency vehicle that has appeared in every game in the series so far (except Grand Theft Auto 2, where a paramedic car called the Medicar is featured instead). Ambulances are usually found near hospitals and, as of Grand Theft Auto III, can be used to start the paramedic sub-mission.

Overview
The vehicle invariably features red and white lights and sirens and a matching paint scheme. Throughout the series the siren sound has varied slightly, as has the design of the vehicle itself. If multiple people are killed an ambulance will arrive and two paramedics will get out and attempt to revive the wounded. Typically if paramedics are killed it creates more police attention than other civilians. Handling-wise, the Ambulance is fairly fast for its class and has decent brakes, but is very top heavy and unstable, making it prone to rolling over under rough cornering. The ambulance chassis appears to be a modified version of that used for the Enforcer, but is shorter and has different markings and differently colored lights. Furthermore, the sound of the siren on each vehicle is distinct.

Whenever the player enters a parked Ambulance, their health is partially replenished. In all GTA III era games, the player receives 20 points of health upon entering an Ambulance. In Grand Theft Auto IV, the player can dial 911 to summon a Brute Ambulance, from which the player can replenish their health for a price. Although the Ambulance sports a 'Brute' badge on the front, it is clearly a modified version of the Declasse Burrito. The GTA III era Ambulances are based on various generations of the Ford E-series chassis, mainly the third and fourth generations. The GTA IV Ambulance is based on the Chevy Astro 2nd generation.

Paramedic side-mission
Paramedic
The Paramedic side-mission can be toggled on or off when driving the ambulance in all GTA III-era games. This mission requires the player to find, pick up and deliver patients to the hospital within a time limit, while endeavoring to drive as safely as possible (each bump further injures the passengers). With every level comes another patient to deliver, increasing the difficulty. Usually when the player beats level 12 the mission is complete (but can be carried on and replayed later) and a reward is achieved, e.g. infinite sprint or extra health.

GTA IV is powered by RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine), with a Euphoria, Endorphin physics engine created by NaturalMotion. The core technology is the Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS) system. This new physics engine gives characters a "central nervous system" allowing more natural, unscripted movements. It also adds weight to each characters footsteps and causes them to transition depending on their surroundings. This is apparent when characters walk up and down stairs; instead of moving like the stairs are a flat surface, the stance of the character changes depending on if they are moving up or down. Characters react realistically to being hit with gunfire, cars, and melee weapons or fists. Falling/thrown characters will react as in real life. They won't simply be limp, lifeless ragdolls. Nor will they use a canned "super hero" animation like before. Players are also able to push people out of the way, rather than "floating" past them as in older games.

New sunlight and weather effects give the city a whole different appearance as the time of day progresses. Volumetric lighting effects allow sunlight to stream realistically into dusty interiors. Police spotlights also benefit from this effect when helicopters kick up debris. In cars, you can see real reflections on the rear- and side-view mirrors.

Animations are created on the fly, so each player's experience will be unique. Gamers are no longer subjected to prerecorded animations.

Although the size of the map is no bigger than San Andreas, the detail of the city has been enriched to a unique depth. There is no open space, and every inch of the city tells a story.

Normal (bump) maps provide much more detail in models than the underlying polygons, as well as giving materials more texture and depth. Road and building textures are more varied than in previous GTAs. On some roads you will find potholes or metal plates where the road has been dug up. Modern pixel shaders give water, glass, cars, etc., more realistic reflections and shininess than the earlier games.

When it comes to game-mechanics, GTA IV has little in common with San Andreas. Many of the silly, unrealistic weapons have been sacrificed for the sake of realism. Players are not be able to mow down cars with the Minigun or the Radar-guided Missile Launcher anymore.

Airplanes have been sacrificed as well, which makes sense as there is only one airport; however, aerial transport is still found in the shape of helicopters. The lack of airplanes is also rumored to be because of Rockstar not wanting a reenactment of the events of 9/11 in the game, as GTAIV takes place in a recreation of New York. The driving model has also been strongly tweaked, giving a very strong sense of realism. Cars no longer feel as if they are gliding on rails. Every shake of the steering wheel or bump in the road now has very realistic feedback. Moreover, players do not find the odd, plaid parachute anymore.

The new cover system, which gives Niko the ability to duck behind walls, cars and barrels, is almost completely taken from the cover system featured in Gears of War, but then they say "if you copy, copy from the best". It makes firefights much more realistic and dramatic than the "duck and run" tactics that CJ, the protagonist of the previous Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, had to rely on.

Unlike in the previous Grand Theft Auto's, cars are more realistic. The speed of the car depends on how much pressure you apply on the acceleration buttons. Instead of just simply holding down a button and the car fully accelerates, the car's have a more realistic transmission and up shift and down shift in sync. So the car shifts accordingly to rpms. Also the car automatically shifts at according rpm speeds. The cars will shift depending on how much pressure you apply to the acceleration button. You can now rev your car's engine by holding down the handbrake button and accelerating. Engine sounds depend on the rpm your at, instead of just having the basic accel sound and de-accel sound, the engine sound will match the rpm. Burnouts are more realistic as smoke builds up the longer you burnout. If you burn out for too long, the tires will pop from the heat. You can control the lights. And when you turn the cars suspension lifts depending on what side you turn and how hard you turn. Just like in the real world, if you crash into a car's back at the right speed, the tank will explode and the car will catch fire. Now if you flip over in a vehicle, it will no long catch on fire. If you damage your engine just enough, the car will keep on over turning and wont start up.

In gta iv, there is a new damage system. When you crash into a building or a object, you will leave big cracks or bend the objects with particles coming out. Your car's damage will depend on how hard you hit an object instead of hitting a object at 1 mph and getting a hudge dent on the car, the harder you slam your car into something, the more dents/damage there will be. Now boats and helicopters have damage added to them. Dents and damage will appear now matter where you hit a vehicle or a object. You can even blast through a concrete pole to kill your target.

GripeCops manage to shoot your tires out, even if you're going 100mph.
:RebutAnd they have multiple cops firing lots of bullets to shoot your tires down to stop you from running away.
::GripeActually, I was chased by cops and one cop shot my tires out no matter how fast I am going. I think R* must've used an aimbot to stop you from running.
:::RebutWho says it was a gun shot? I have ran over things before that have popped my tires.

GripeSomehow, an LCPD Cruiser can keep up with an Infernus that is easily twice as fast. And then they can't keep up with a slow municipal bus.
:RebutThey can keep up with an Infernus due to the sheer number of police cruisers. Aren't cops aren't meant to ram the person they are chasing unless under extreme circumstances.

Gripe After you complete the story, you can't call Francis to lose your wanted level at all.
:RebutFrancis would only do it once in the story anyway. Besides, there is always Kiki.

GripeCops don't deploy spike strips, or utilize special pursuit vehicles for highspeed chases. Nor do they cordon off areas to trap the player.
:RebutThey block off the bridges, and send more helicopters after you.

GripeNo matter how hard players try to get away from the police's radius, cops seem to spawn near the player's vehicle. Hiding is nearly impossible, even on secluded areas.
:RebutRockstar, I believe, was trying to make the game more realistic. It's like that in real life, too.
::RebutYes, especially in Star Junction, there are more cops in that area around than others. Plus the police of course dispatches more cop cars around the radius to search for you.
:::RebutOnce the chase ends (your stars turn grey and there's no cops immediately near you), you should really pull over to jack another car or get sprayed, especially if you're still well within the wanted area.
::::GripeThe radius is another thing that's irritating. I get in the chopper, and somehow, I can't evade the radius. It stays where it was. Crappy realism, I mean, you evaded the cops, but not the radius? Pathetic.
:::::RebutIt would be hard not to notice a helicopter over head, would it? Not, they can still track you if your in a helicopter. There are very few places to hide in the sky.

GripeYou can't evade or outrun your wanted level in a helicopter.
:RebutIt's rather difficult to run away when everybody in the city can see you flying 200 meters up in a helicopter. Don't you think?
::RebutYou can evade and outrun wanted levels when they are low (i.e. 1 or 2 stars) as not as many police are searching for you.
:::RebutThere is a way, albeit kind of a cheap one. If you have Playboy X's safe house, you can fly low over the roof and bail out onto the balcony. Then you can run inside and save your game, which should clear your wanted level.

GripeCops somehow manage to stay alive even after multiple gunshots, and their weapons do more damage to the player. They seem to be bullet sponges, and still get up after a full magazine from an AK has been shot into them at medium range.
:RebutSome of them have body armor. As members of a police force they would have superior weapons and training.
::GripeI don't think beat cops wear body armor, and their weapons are exactly the same as the ones the player can use.
:::RebutNOOSE wear body armor, plus police have had training for years to get great with a pistol, plus they know where to shoot, unlike most players.

GripeUndercover police officers do not appear at 3 wanted star levels or higher.
:RebutThere never were undercover police officers. Those seen in casual clothes in previous GTA games were FBI agents.
::GripeYes there were. There were casual clothed police clothes equipped with a sort of sub-machine gun in GTA VC and GTA VCS driving VCPD Cheetahs. Also, even if there were never undercover officers before, there's no reason why it couldn't be in "realistic" GTA IV.
GripePay and Spray has become almost useless. When no cops are around, it's easier to just outrun them. When they are around, you can't spray.
:RebutBut there's more to a Pay 'n' Spray than losing Wanted Levels. They will change the paint of a car if you don't like it to the color you've driven most, and they will also repair damaged vehicles. It just doesn't make sense for a cop to be right on your tail when you enter a Pay 'n' Spray, only to ignore you when you drive out.
::GripeEven when the cops ignore you, your car does'nt get resprayed to clear wanted levels, so this heavily detracts realism as the cops prevents players from entering the Pay N Spray.
:::RebutYou try to flee the cops, and you go into a garage right in front of them and they somehow lose you? That is what was taken out of this game, and added more realism. Think a little harder next time about what is and isn't realistic.

GripeThose annoying pedestrians keep calling the cops whenever I do one small shove, making it harder to score a few bucks without those boys in blue knowing.
:Rebut It's the attempt at realism. If someone came up to you on the street, shoved you and said "Give me all your money", wouldn't you either run or punch them, before calling the cops?

GripeCops do not initiate a car chase to pursue other criminals, much like in GTA San Andreas, which heavily detracts realism.
:Rebut Actually cops do initiate car chases, just not as frequently. Not only can they do that, but they can also arrest unlawful pedestrians and put them in a nearby cop car. GTA IV is more realistic compared to San Andreas, by the way.
::GripeBut I don't see other criminals driving and performing drive-bys to cops while being chased. All they do is peerform foot pursuit and catch a criminal only. This pulls realism away.
:::RebutCops can stop criminals faster then you think they can, so you are less likely to see a car chase that started in Alderney end in Dukes.

GripeCriminals no longer carjack vehicles.
:RebutYes they do.
Rebut Not true, you can see cars being jacked in parts of Tudor. It's rare, but it happens.

GripeWhatever happened to the "good citizen bonus" you got in GTA:VC? It was kinda cool.
:RebutWould a cop in your town really want someone taking the law into their own hands?
::RebutUnless you can be a good samaritan , taking the law into your own hands IS illegal.

GripeYou can't bribe the police to get your weapons back, like in GTA:VCS. Shouldnt that have been put in, it was in a PSP game, so it would be easy to put into a PS3 game
:RebutRemember the Mayor's Crackdown on Firearms? This means all guns are repossessed and taken else where.
NotYouHahahttps://www.grandtheftwiki.com/index.php?title=Landstalker&diff=28244Landstalker2008-08-04T16:49:49Z
NotYouHaha: /* Locations */ ---Wikifying

The Landstalker is an SUV that is available on all but one of the Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and Grand Theft Auto IV.

In GTA IV there are standard Landstalkers in a variety of colours, as well as black Landstalkers which have step side rails and TV screens in the headrests. These tend to be a little harder to find. Throughout its appearance, gamers have cited the vehicle as being notoriously unstable with its high center of gravity, and susceptibility to rollovers. The new Landstalker in GTA IV doesn't roll over anymore. The GTA IV version oversteers alot, gets some understeer and is the largest SUV yet in the GTA series.

Design
In each game, it has a different design, and in some cases, resembling not a specific car. In Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, it doesn't resemble a specific car. However, in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, it resembles a Jeep Wagoneer with the grille and lights of a fourth generation Ford Bronco, the front bumper is from a first generation Chevrolet S-10 or S-10 Blazer (the lights grille could also be from it and probably are since the Bronco came out later). In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, the Landstalker has a grille and chassis like a Jeep Grand Cherokee (and maybe also the headlights), the front bumper is once again from a first generation Chevy S-10 or S-10 Blazer, the wood panels look like those of a Jeep Wagoneer, and it sounds like it sports a V8.

In GTA IV, it resembles a 2003-2006 Lincoln Navigator, with elements of the Ford Excursion and Chevy Suburban but it also looks like an Infiniti QX56 or a Chrysler Aspen. It is manufactured by the Maibatsu Corporation in all games except GTA IV, where Dundreary Motors manufactures it.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is based on the Harley Davidson Electra Glide. This is an excellent vehicle for drive-bys while in Vigilante missions, as the player may shoot forwards, as long as the player doesn't fall off of the bike or lose tires.

Martha's Mug Shot is the third mission played for Steve Scott, director of films in Interglobal Films in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Walkthrough
spoiler

Brief
Congressman Alex Shrub is going for the Puritan Vote in this election and to do so he's planning to make porn films in Florida illegal. This, being bad for your business, must be stopped immediately, and so, you will have to get incriminating photos of Shrubb by following Candy Suxxx to Alex's penthouse and take pictures of them there.

The Mission
When you get the briefing, run towards the nearby Sparrow parked on the studio. Get in and then fly above the studio for a minute or so until Candy gets on her golden Stretch. Then, start following her. The car will drive out of Prawn Island and enter Vice Point, there it will keep going along the streets until it reaches Shrubb's penthouse (formerly Gonzales's penthouse) behind The Malibu Club.

Once there, park your Sparrow on the beach and get into the marked hotel in front of Shrubb's penthouse. Go up the stairs until you reach the marked floor, then enter the hallway in that floor and go towards the window at the end, here, activate the camera you were given at the begining of the mission (activating the camera is just like activating a Sniper rifle), take zoom, aim at Shrubb and take three incriminating pictures.

When you take the third picture, Candy will notice you are here and will tell Shrubb (a.k.a. Martha). He will call the cops and set his bodyguards on you. Now, pull out a submachine gun and ready yourself. Start going down the way you came and eventually you will meet up with Shrubb's guards, kill them and keep moving. When you reach the bottom floor, kill the guards and get out of the hotel.

Then, run to your Sparrow and get in, once you're airborn drive back to Interglobal Films, don't worry about the cops, they won't reach you while you're in the air. When you reach the studio, land the Sparrow and run towards Set D, since the cops will be at the studio and will try to shoot you down, once you enter Set D and give Steve the pictures, you've passed the mission!

Script
(Interglobal Film Studios, Tommy Vercetti, Steve Scott and Candy Suxxx).

Tommy: OK, what's the problem now?

Steve: Sshhhh! Well, after his close-encounter with the nympho invaders, our hero finds himself unable to think of anything but this huge phallic mountain - and that's when I want to do the scene with the vat of mashed potatoes, but then we, uh...

Tommy: I don't give a crap about that! J - just keep going, keep going. You mentioned something about some legal problem on the phone?

Steve: Congressman Alex Shrub has jumped on the pre-election bandwagon, he's going after the puritan vote. Rumors are he's gonna support measures to restrict, shall we say, the more fleshy aspects of this nation's great entertainment industry.

Tommy: Great. Candy! You know Shrub. You guys get up to anything kinky?

Candy: Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah! Yes yes yes YES, Ooohh!

Steve: Please - tell me you got that.

Tommy: Was that part of the, uh... Or was she talking to...?

Steve: Hey I can never tell. Anyway...You're probably best following her after the shoot, see if she'll lead you to their new love nest.

Tommy: You got a camera?

Steve: Yeah. Give him a camera!

(Shrub's penthouse, Candy and Alex Shrub).

Candy: Hey!

Shrub: Uh Candy, can you call me Martha?

Candy: Oh Alex - I mean Martha. Whatever you say...

(Shrub's penthouse, After Tommy takes the pictures, Candy).

Candy: Martha. Someone's watching, how kinky...

(WC Chariot Hotel, Shrub's Bodyguard).

Shrub's Bodyguard: You! Gimme that camera!

Su Xi Mu or Suzie as he is called, is a high ranking member member of The Mountain Cloud Boys and helps operate the Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas. He is Wu Zi Mu's assistant and helps guide him in his daily activities. Due to their similar names, it is possible Wu Zi Mu and Su Xi Mu are brothers, but this is not elaborated on in the story.
