Yay Ka-Boom-Boom is the semi-climactic central storyline mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, given to protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson by San Fierro Triads leader Wu Zi "Woozie" Mu from the garage at Doherty, San Fierro, San Andreas.

Mission

With the Loco Syndicate now finished, Carl seems to be brooding over the loss of a dear childhood friend in Lance "Ryder" Wilson, who betrayed his gang, the Grove Street Families, for drugs, and Mexican-American Varrios Los Aztecas gang leader Cesar Vialpando tries to convince him of the correctness of his act, claiming that Ryder had earlier tried to harrass Carl's sister Kendl Johnson. However, at that moment, Woozie arrives and tells them that the only thing left to do is to destroy the yay factory in Doherty. Woozie's guy has set a wired car for the job. Carl then goes to the garage in Downtown, picks up the car and goes to the factory. The gate is closed and there are two guards. Carl kills the guards and the gate is opened. Here, more men inside try to kill Carl, who eventually kills them all. Carl gets inside the factory and parks near the chemical containers. He activates the bomb and he has to run away. He gets out of the building, and a car gets in the factory. Carl kills the people carried by the vehicle, and gets out of the factory via a ramp, since the gate was closed. Carl safely gets back to his garage, ending his syndicate worries in San Fierro.

Script

(Carl is sitting inside on the table with a wad of cash on it. Mexican-American Varrios Los Aztecas gang leader Cesar Vialpando arrives.)

Cesar: Carl! You're a fucking hero down in LS, I just spoke to my cousin.

CJ: Not wit' my people I ain't. Shit's still fucked up. Man, I got homies I used to run with that turn their back on me, over this.

Cesar: Yeah, well, what are you going to do, huh?

CJ: (stands up and reacts) Fucking Ryder man! That was my homie! And I've killed him!

Cesar: Fucking midget deserved it, eh. Little asshole tried to bang your sister, you know that?

CJ: ...No...For real...? Shit. Maybe you're right, then, man. But...

Cesar: Cheer the fuck up! You're going soft on me, man. You did something good, eh?

Woozie: (enters) Yes you did. But this isn't over yet.

CJ: What you mean?

Woozie: Well, your former friends have a factory. And the way I see it, if you take that out, you will have put them out of business for good.

(Outside the garage, as his phone is ringing, Carl answers.)

CJ: Yeah?

Guy: CJ!

CJ: Who is this?

Guy: I work for Woozie, he told me to call you.

CJ: Alright, wassup?

Guy: I'm rigging a car with explosives so you can take out the crack factory! Drop 'round the garage Downtown.

Carl Johnson: Cool. I'll be at you in a minute.

(Carl arrives at the garage in Downtown.)

CJ: Hey man, is it ready?

Guy: She's all set. Get in. (Carl hops in) She's packing enough to take out that crack lab. I've wired in a delay timer, to give you time to get out.

CJ: Cool. Good lookin'.

(Carl, arriving at the factory, kills two guards.)

Factory worker: We're being hit! Some Loco bastard is blasting on our homeboys! Open the gates and waste the dumb fuck, holmes!

(Carl manages to destroy the factory and get back to the garage.)

Post-mission Phone Call

CJ: Speak on it!

Unknown Voice: This is a friend of yours. I've got some information relating to your brother. Come to my ranch and I'll explain. It's in Tierra Robada, cross the Garver Bridge, head south.

CJ: Who the fuck is this?

Unknown Voice: I can't talk right now, get your ass over here.

CJ: Moms always told me not to talk to strangers.

Unknown Voice: And look what happend to the bitch, now if you want your brother to go to sleep tonight with his tongue intact get your ass over here. Goodbye.

Reward

The rewards for this mission are $25,000 and increased respect. The missions Monster and Zeroing In are unlocked, with the latter mission needing the Driving School to be passed first. The M4 Carbine is unlocked for purchase at Ammu-Nation. All bridges including the Gant Bridge, the Kincaid Bridge and the Garver Bridge are now open, granting access to Bayside, Tierra Robada, Bone County and Las Venturas. Most amenities in Las Venturas are available, including the casinos, with the major exception being Carl cannot buy safehouses yet; that ability is unlocked by a later mission.

Cesar will stop calling Carl for the drug courier missions as the source in the yay factory is destroyed. Furthermore, safehouses in El Quebrados, Tierra Robada and Fort Carson are available for purchase. Triathlons in the Santa Maria Beach, Los Santos and Fisher's Lagoon, Palomino Creek are now unlocked, available to be played respectively on a Saturday and a Sunday.

Trivia

  • The wired car has a special numberplate 'TIME8OMB'.
  • The voice actor of the mechanic, who supplies Carl with the rigged car, also voices many other characters in the game including Guppy.
  • In previous games, when you drive a car that has a bomb, a damage bar appears, which if filled up, makes the vehicle explode. In this mission, you drive a rigged car, but there's no damage bar.
  • The rigged car also does not explode any differently than a normal car, even though its fully loaded with explosives that would go off as the car explodes.
  • Jumping from the ramp will give you a unique stunt jump bonus. If the jump wasn't successful, try again after the mission. The gate will be opened.
  • There is a subtitle error in the post mission phone call; Carl says' Speak on it', however the subtitle's read 'Yes?'
  • If you destroy your escape car, another Voodoo will spawn elsewhere in the yard.
