Born in Mayagüez to Cuban immigrants who resettled in Puerto Rico, Riesco was raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he attended ''Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola''.  After graduating from high school, he relocated to New York City where he began to work in local and off-Broadway productions before launching his film career.
 
Among the many memorable roles he has had, most of them have been in critically-acclaimed independent films such as Pieces of April starring Katie Holmes and ''Garden State'', starring Natalie Portman. Besides making a name for himself in the independent film industry, he has worked on major Hollywood films such as ''National Treasure'' and the controversial Oliver Stone film, ''World Trade Center'' which covers the lives of several New York City policemen and firefighters trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center after its destruction and eventual collapse that were a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Other major films include the ''25th Hour'' (directed by Spike Lee) and ''Fever Pitch'', starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore.
 
In addition to his film work, he has had small roles on such popular drama series as ''Third Watch'' and ''Law and Order: Criminal Intent''. Presently he is filming ''3 lbs.'', a new dramatic television series. The series, starring Stanley Tucci as a brain surgeon in a city hospital is scheduled to premiere on the CBS network as a midseason replacement for winter 2007.

Armando Riesco (born December 5, 1977 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican motion picture and television actor. He has appeared in films such as Pieces of April, National Treasure and World Trade Center. He voiced Pierre La Ponce and Victor Vance in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City; he also voiced C.R.A.S.H. officer Jimmy Hernandez and various pedestrians in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
