This is a list of notable casualites in the Grand Theft Auto IV era. The list follows a logical order and includes named characters and unnamed important characters, but not unidentifed collateral casualties.

The games are Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony (all set in 2008), and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (set in 2009). Since the games take place so close together, casualties will be divided among each game.

During two seperate missions, Niko can kill either one person or the other. The result can have a subtle impact on the gameplay/storyline.

Dwayne Forge North Holland Hustlers Niko Bellic Niko can kill either Dwayne or Playboy in The Holland Play. If Niko kills Dwayne, then Playboy gives Niko $25,000, but will not talk to Niko again afterwards. The Holland Play
Francis McReary LCPD Niko Bellic Niko can kill either Francis or Derrick in Blood Brothers. If Niko kills Francis, he doesn't get anything, though the rest of the McReary family seem to not care that Francis was killed. Blood Brothers
Derrick McReary Irish Mob Niko Bellic Niko can kill either Derrick or Francis in Blood Brothers. If Niko kills Derrick, he gets $10,000 (goes up to $20,000 if you call Francis during the meeting), as well as the ability to call in a favor from Francis to get rid of any wanted level up to 3 stars until the end of the storyline.
