The Rules

Does anybody understand the rules of the gta 5 wishlist?Everybody is posting incorrectly and it's entirely ridiculous when it's soooooo easy. And nobody understands that you're supposed to post under the very bottom suggestion of the list.this is how simple it is-

Archive

Should we consider archiving this article? I've noticed that it is rather laggy when you edit it, because the list of suggestions is now really long, and to be honest, the vast majority of the recent suggestions are things that have been suggested countless times already - this is likely because people can't be bothered reading through the list, which is understandable. Regardless, something needs to be done, whether it's archiving or locking the article - the former probably being the most "considerate" solution... - Hardrock182 16:32, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

What about putting it into sections such as vehicle wishes, gameplay wishes etc? Just an idea -ScotlandTheBest 18:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I have been planning to archive this for a long time, so I just did it. This will also help with vandalism, there was alot of cleanup that was needed in the (now) archive, this is like starting again, I will be keeping an eye on the new one. Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 05:59, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, and I agree, it's good to be able to, effectively, "start over" now. The vandalism shouldn't really be a major worry this time round though, as the most recent cases have been users who obviously don't realise that making mulitple edits at once doesn't conceal their vandal edits (I usually click "x Changes" as opposed to "diff" or "prev" if multiple edits have been made, so all their edits show up at once). Lets just hope that users will actually take notice of the bold message and all-caps messages telling them to place their suggestions at the bottom of the page this time - that really started to annoy me, it's not really a big deal, but the message is right there on-screen, so I fail to see how they can't adhere to its simple instructions. - Hardrock182 16:42, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Organization

I think that this page should be more organized; make it have sections according to what the wish was for. There would be a location section, weapons section, vehicles section, and other things of the sort. This is a matter I think an administator should take care of, so if one could give me the green light (or the red one, I guess), I would happily do this.-Armachedes [[File:CogHammer.gif]] 14:12, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

GTA V in France not impossible

who would want it in france anyway! --Lozzy94 03:00, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

Is this for the next installment or the next Generation (PS4 Xbox 720 etc)?

Is this refering to the next major release or the next generation release? Cause as far as the next "full" release I just hope it's in Vice City and weather or not it's close and realistically modeled after Miami I don't care but I strongly hope for the retro setting again. Daniel Christensen 05:47, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

As for the next Generation I would hope for an effectively infinite draw distance, real 1080 graphics and the lack of the childish and immature humor found in all the other releases, making it seem as if the M rated game should appeal more to 13 year olds than anyone else. Daniel Christensen 05:49, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Archive

This wishlist is definetly overdue for an archive with 350+ suggestions. (the last archive was only 160) Anyways this page takes a while to load and edit, and i think this version should now be archived. Chimpso 08:59, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Rockstar

Will this be sent to Rockstar Games...if it is that would be cool T-888 22:40, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Rockstar do visit this site occasionally, and they have read the wishlists before. However, there is no guarantee that they will read it, and of course no guarantee that they will listen to the suggestions. But it might be a good idea for us to actively send it to Rockstar (we had this idea before). But instead of sending them 2,000 suggestions, it would probably be better for us to take the most common suggestions - like those in the current poll - and send those instead. Gboyers talk 23:06, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

i think with enough fan support we can get some of the things we would want... T-888 01:44, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

It would be a lot of work but several people volunteer to read through am archive each and pick out the more reasonable and most common suggestions and maybe a few that seem like good ideas Clueless93 23:02, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Saintsrow2fan95 wants feedback about their suggestions

Categories issue

How come in the categories it says GTA SA? I know about the rumor that the setting for GTA V may be in San Andreas but whether or not that's the reason, can anyone explain it a bit further? Thanks, I was just wondering...Lol. --Insane! 06:15, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

It's just that someone who has suggested a wish added the San Andreas category. Most people who suggest wishes aren't actually familiar with how the wiki works, and so they don't realise what they've done. Other people just add categories wherever they want :) We'll remove it next time we clear out the wishlist. Gboyers talk 08:46, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

This Guy

who is this guy? he keeps flooding the wishlist with horrible ideas, as if he's an 8 year old whos just played GTA, you can spot him by looking for the: "I WANT WHERE YOU CAN HAVE" cause i'm awfully tempted to delete this guys posts Zachariah Zuan 22:22, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

"I Sure Do Come Up With Good Ideas For GTA5" thats not a suggestion >.> I removed it and it was added back Zachariah Zuan 13:49, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

We will look into this. Anyone is entitled to leave a suggestion, no matter how silly or unlikely it is. People who are adding non-suggestions will be spoken to. Gboyers talk 18:39, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

thanks Zachariah Zuan 11:23, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Special Wishlists

Perhaps every user should make his own GTA 5 Wishlist. Why NOT? Since there are many ideas and suggestions, and the wishlist is being longer, perhaps there will be too much suggestions in the same wishlist. It would be also good if there is a wishlist where you can suggest other names for the next GTA game! DasRagazzoSan 19:54, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

You can put whatever you want on your user page. You can also make sub-pages like User:DasRagazzoSan/wishlist for a full wishlist page. I will look into making this easier for users, that's a good suggestion. As for suggesting names, that's only really dependent on the location. All main GTA games have been named after the city or just the era number. The only exceptions are the portable games. There's nothing to suggest they'd give it a different type of name. It's possible there could be a wishlist for city locations, but we prefer to do this via polls. Gboyers talk 20:12, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

Comment's we need them

How come we can't comment, we need them for the following reasons

  • To know if people like your idea
  • To know if people dislike your idea
  • to get more ideas

Redturismo 02:46, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

There are 3 reasons for this:
  1. Adding a wish is simple enough, yet people still get it wrong, break the syntax, and make the page look bad. If we introduced comments too, people would be deleting large chunks of content and breaking the page everywhere. Using the current format, it's not realistic to let people comment. Maybe if we introduced a full interactive comment-style system, we could do that.
  2. We have thousands of wishes. If several people commented on every suggestion, that would make the page HUGE and unmanageable.
  3. People are entitled to their own views/opinions/ideas, even if it's stupid. Other people are allowed to disagree, but we wouldn't want people going around saying "OMG that idea is stupid, you're a retard" and insulting people. As there would be thousands of comments, the staff couldn't manage/moderate that many comments.

Hope that helps you understand why we don't have commenting at the moment, but I will look into it. Gboyers talk 11:27, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

I could not help over reading and I have an idea,a page for commenting: eg

3 gunshots to kill you, no planes and Niko again

3 shots to kill you will fustrate gamesrs and no planes and Niko, I don't like, No offence

NOTE: I saw that idea on the wishlist

Top 10 suggestions

Can I and should I make a new page called Top 10 suggestions for GTA 5? There would be 10 most suggested/written suggestions or 10 most important suggestions/features which should/must definately be in the final version of GTA 5. Is this a good idea? DasRagazzoSan 11:17, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Own pages

why don't we just have the suggestions on users pages, i'm tried of this clogging up the Recent Changes list, and annoyed due to some of the idiotic comments from 12 year olds who've just played GTA and feel they know enough to say 'GTA SHOULD AVE ALL DA PEOPLE FROM DA EARLAR GAMES BE FRIENDZ' and a wishlist? in an Encyclopedia? this isn't a forum Zachariah Zuan 19:43, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Rockstar Reading the Wrong Sugestions

I hope rockstar reads the good sugestions and not idiotic ones like:

  • 3 gunshots to kill you
  • No Plane's
  • No Rhino's
  • Niko Again
  • The Ability to Sit Down
  • No Chainsaw or Axe

What if Rockstar reads them?

We are DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED
