Dukes (car)

The Dukes is a two-door muscle car made by Imponte, found exclusively in Grand Theft Auto IV. It is based off of a 1969 Dodge Charger (the name is a reference to the show, "The Dukes of Hazzard"). However, since Imponte is based off Pontiac, the Dukes may have been meant to emulate a first generation Pontiac Firebird, but it still looks closer to a Charger. Dukes are quite popular in the borough of Bohan, and some of them are found with Roots blowers and bug-catcher scoops, all with '750 HP' written on each side - referring to its insanely powerful 750 bhp V8. Despite having such a powerful engine, the Dukes isn't that fast and has a moderate top speed.
Like most other muscle cars based on 1960s or 1970s models, Dukes have power to spare but need improvement in handling. They have a strong tendency to oversteer and the rear tires often cop a bit of a smoking under hard acceleration. They do, however, make great burnout/skid cars, with the car being able to keep the tires smoking for long distances. The Dukes may also be a reference to the Dukes Of Hazzard (if its color is orange).
