An Enforcer assuming a newer design in GTA IV.

The Enforcer is an emergency police vehicle featured in all GTA III era games and Grand Theft Auto IV. It is called out once the player has reached a four-star wanted level, containing SWAT officers. It has seating for up to four people, including the driver.

Description

In the GTA III era series of games, whilst heavily armed, the truck is not entirely bulletproof - however in some games the player gains armor upon entering it. The vehicle is not to good on rough terrain as its low clearance, small wheels, and heavy weight will make it flip easily. It is rarely seen in Grand Theft Auto III, appearing only once in a long while. In all games except Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the trucks are marked with "POLICE" markings. In GTA Vice City it has "SWAT" markings. This may be true to life as some forces have ceased to officially use the term SWAT. As with all emergency/police vehicles it is equipped with sirens and lights, while these are turned on traffic will move out of the way. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the Enforcer has LSPD (Los Santos Police Dept) markings, regardless of what part of the map the player is occupying.

GTA IV

In GTA IV, the Enforcer is based on the Securicar and Police Stockade, in black, bearing NOOSE livery and marked as the "Liberty City Tactical Response Unit". It is labelled as being manufactured by Brute as an 8000cc "Turbochar" and also bears an "8000 Stockade" logo. The Enforcer in GTA IV has bulletproof mesh grating over the windshield, making it hard to shoot the driver. The vehicle is also heavily armored, rendering it almost completely bulletproof, howver an explosion can still destroy it.
