Episodes, also known as Episodic Content or Downloadable Content are downloads for Grand Theft Auto IV that add extra missions, areas, weapons, characters and more onto the standard game and a new storyline that interweaves with the main GTA IV storyline. Currently, both episodes are available for the Xbox 360 version of the game, through Xbox Live. Each episode requires the original GTA IV disk in order to be played. It is not presently known whether there are any plans to port this or future episodes to other video game systems. The game retails for £34.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the US.

List of Episodic Content

Episodes From Liberty City

Both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony were also released on a single disc - Episodes From Liberty City. Unlike the individual episodes, this doesn't require the original GTA IV game. This was released on the same day as The Ballad of Gay Tony on 29th October 2009. The disc includes three exclusive radio stations to compensate the music not carried over from GTA IV. The DLCs do not have exclusive music but music from GTA IV are carried over. If a player does not have GTA IV installed on their consoler, some phone conversation dialog in Episodes From Liberty City will be missing.

PC

After the 5th PC patch for GTA IV (1.0.0.4) there was new achievements on Games for Windows Live that were only unlocked with "The Lost and Damned" DLC. A lot of websites report that this may confirm the DLC coming to PC.
