i already now how to use mark up, but the rich text editor is good for casual editing, and markup is good for adding templates and that kind of stuff, plus wiki noobs won't understand it that good, but what ever. though youtube embedding would be nice to have back lol <span style="color:Green">Mega</span><span style="color:#00FF00">Hyper</span><span style="color:Green">Nova</span> 08:47, 11 October 2010 (BST)

My Home, Submenu & Rich Text Editing

ok heres a couple things i think we need back, the my home feature because its a lot more clean looking, the sub menu feature in the side-bar and the rich text editing, i will update this page if i see any other issues/problems MegaHyperNova 13:02, 10 October 2010 (BST)

MyHome is a Wikia feature, why do so many people want that back anyway? The main section of it is just a less useful version of Recent Edits. The submenus in the sidebar are a feature from the Monaco skin, which we would have no longer had on Wikia anyway. I have never seen another MediaWiki skin with submenus unfortunately. As for the rich text editor, that was once again a Wikia feature, and most MediaWiki rich text editors break the wiki markup of pages. The most important parts of the wiki markup are fairly easy to learn, and in fact, manually entering the markup is much easier/quicker (once you know it) than pressing buttons on a rich text editor. If you're unsure what an edit will look like after saving, simply hit the preview button (next to the save button). The main wiki markup you need to know are: To make links, simply use two square brackets on either side of the text that you're linking, for example: Sandbox creates a link to the Sandbox. You can also change the text of the link like this: test editing here, which creates a link to the Sandbox that says test editing here. The other two most important things are italics, made like this, and bold, made like this. Filling in infoboxes is less simple, but still quite easy to learn. If you don't know how to do something, you can always use the toolbar above the edit box, or the box full of different code below the save button: just click the type of code that you would like to use, and it will be inserted into the page at the current cursor location. Of course, you can also ask any member of staff if you don't know how to do something, and we are happy to help! JFletcherTalk (formerly User:Biggest gta fan ever) 07:09, 11 October 2010 (BST)

i already now how to use mark up, but the rich text editor is good for casual editing, and markup is good for adding templates and that kind of stuff, plus wiki noobs won't understand it that good, but what ever. though youtube embedding would be nice to have back lol MegaHyperNova 08:47, 11 October 2010 (BST)

Galleries

Pretty minor, but Galleries won't show images any more unless "File:" or "Image:" are prefixed onto each image name. --Bluesboyjr 13:39, 10 October 2010 (BST)

if i remember correctly galleries were a monico feature, and this skin (obviously) isn't monico, sigh i guess we'll have to adapt, but it would be nice to have some of the features back as i listed above :) MegaHyperNova 13:46, 10 October 2010 (BST)

Monaco was only a skin/design. The additional features such as MyHome, user profiles and the image-lightbox are features that Wikia wrote. We can access some of them, but there's no guarantee they would work, we wouldn't be able to maintain them, and they could pose a security risk. I'll look into the gallery code issue, thats nothing to do with the skin. Gboyers 13:50, 10 October 2010 (BST)

Search

The search function doesn't seem to work properly. For example, when you search for "Bellic", neither Niko or Roman appear. Also, is it possible to bring across the drop-down search suggestions (e.g. when you type "Mon" into the search bar, Money, Monster Truck, Mona etc. appear)? --Bluesboyjr 15:01, 10 October 2010 (BST)

I'll refresh the search index overnight, when it's quieter. And yes, I'll look into getting a search suggestion extension. Gboyers 15:23, 10 October 2010 (BST)
The search index has been rebuilt, and the search should work much better now. Thanks for your help! Gboyers 02:17, 11 October 2010 (BST)

Salvatore Leone page problems

The Salvatore Leone page has numerous cite issues on it. The error text is "[Cite error: Ran out of custom link labels for group "". Define more in the MediaWiki:cite_link_label_group- message.]" -Shorty82 22:58, 10 October 2010 (BST)

Other broken stuff
