Infoboxes are tables that contain a lot of concise information about a page. Generally they are placed in the top-right of an article, and often contain the main image for that article. Infoboxes often also add categories to the pages in which they are used.

Different infoboxes are used depending on the type of page, and some have templates. Where infoboxes are made from tables (rather than templates), they are placed on a sub-page to keep the main article free of clutter and easily-breakable markup.

Infobox templates are listed at Category:Infoboxes. Infobox templates should all be named in lower case.

Games

Pages about GTA Games have infoboxes which contain the vital information and artwork of the game. These are all on subpages.

For example, the GTA IV page has an infobox at sub-page /infobox, which contains the release dates, platform, developer, publisher, engine, protagonist, location and setting, and has a picture of the artwork.

There is no standard infobox template for games, they are all individual tables. This is to allow maximum flexibility. Although tables are less easy to use, the small number of GTA games and the lack of edits required to these infoboxes allow tables to be more practical.

Vehicles

There is no standard infobox template for vehicles. This is because the details of vehicles vary widely from game to game, so technical details such as top speed, drive (eg 4WD) etc would only be valid for one game. Other details are only valid for some vehicles, such as the number of doors (not valid for motorbikes or boats), number of wheels (not for boats) etc.

Many vehicle pages have infoboxes, such as Patriot, but these are individual templates, sometimes on subpages.
