Don James "Jimmy" Pegorino (1957-2008), also known as "The Peg,", "Jimmy P" and "Jimmy the Peg", is a mobster heavily involved in drugs distribution, and head of the Alderney based Pegorino Family. He owns the Honkers strip club in Tudor, Alderney, which is run by his trusted associate, Phil Bell. He is married to Angie Pegorino.
James "Jimmy" Pegorino was the 52-year old boss of the Alderney/Pegorino crime family. In the Deal storyline, Dimitri Rascalov murders Pegorino in the mission "A Revenger's Tragedy". In the Revenge storyline, Niko Bellic murders Pegorino in the mission "Out of Commission".

Pegorino's main goal is to see his family being made part of the Liberty City Cosa Nostra "Commission". The five main Mafia families of Liberty City (the Ancelotti, Pavano, Messina, Gambetti and Lupisella families) consider the Pegorinos to be nothing more than a South Alderney gang.
Jimmy Pegorino is voiced by Tony Patellis.

Niko Bellic meets Pegorino when Bell recommends Niko to him.

Pegorino has Niko accompany him to a truce meeting with the Pavano Family, but he remains suspicious of the Pavanos, and has Niko watch over the meeting with a sniper rifle. Pegorino's instincts are proven correct, as the Pavanos open fire on Pegorino and his associates Big Pete and Marco, killing the younger men. The wounded and fuming Pegorino has Niko chase down his assailants, killing them and retrieving the truce offer. As revenge for the betrayal, Pegorino has Niko ambush a Pavano cash pick-up at Auto Eroticar in Leftwood, Alderney.
Pegorino first asks Bellic to accompany him on a meeting with the Pavano crime family. Pegorino still remains suspicious of the Pavano crime family and asks Bellic to watch over the meeting with a sniper rifle. A group of Pavanos attempt to murder Pegorino, but instead murder "Big" Pete and Marco, two members of the Pegorino crime family who also accompanied him. Bellic eventually murders the group and escapes with Pegorino. In retaliation, Pegorino orders Bellic to attack a group of Pavanos at the Auto Eroticar dealership.

Much to Pegorino's distress, his trusted bodyguard, Anthony Corrado, has 'flipped' and has been wearing a wire for the Government. Pegorino calls Corrado, who has a heart attack but survives. A paranoid Pegorino then holds an arriving Niko at gunpoint with a shotgun, challenging Niko's loyalty. He orders Niko to kill Corrado at the hospital, which Niko does.
Meanwhile, Pegorino finds out that his bodyguard, Anthony Corrado, has become an informant. Pegorino calls Corrado, who suffers a heart attack while talking to Pegorino on the phone. A stressed Pegorino then holds an arriving Niko Bellic at gunpoint, ordering Bellic to murder Corrado at the hospital Corrado's being treated at.

Later on, Pegorino must decide who in his Family is a traitor, as leaks apparently continue — eventually he tasks Niko with killing his Capo, Ray Boccino, whom he does not trust. Pegorino then orders Niko to take part in a drug deal with his old nemesis, Dimitri Rascalov. Pegorino's role in the ending of the storyline is dependent upon Niko's choice.
Later in the storyline, Pegorino finds out that there is another "rat" in his organization. He decides to send a mesaage to the organization, ordering Bellic to murder one of his captains, Ray Boccino. Pegorino then asks Bellic to take part in a heroin deal with his old nemesis, Dimitri Rascalov. Pegorino's role in the ending of the storyline is dependent upon Bellic's choice:

*If Niko takes the deal, then Dimitri Rascalov betrays Pegorino, much as he betrayed Niko and Mikhail Faustin. Inside the old run down casino, Dimitri shoots Pegorino in the face just as Niko is arriving to kill the pair of them as revenge for the death of Roman Bellic.
*If Bellic chooses to take part in the heroin deal with Rascalov, Rascalov eventually betrays Pegorino, much as he betrayed Bellic and Mikhail Faustin, and steals the heroin. Inside the abandoned casino, Rascalov shoots Pegorino point blank, as soon as Bellic arrives to murder the pair in revenge of the murder of Bellic's cousin, Roman Bellic.

*If Niko chooses revenge (by killing Rascalov, and thereby ruining Pegorino's deal), Pegorino drives by the gathering outside the church at the wedding of Mallorie and Roman Bellic, and opens fire into the crowd. Kate McReary is hit in the stomach and killed. Niko hunts Pegorino down to avenge this death, and corners him on Happiness Island.
*If Bellic refuses to take part in the deal, he arrives at the docks in Broker and murders Rascalov. In retaliation, Pegorino attempts to murder Bellic, but instead shoots Bellic's girlfriend, Kate McReary, in the stomach at Roman Bellic and Mallorie Bardas's wedding. Niko finds Pegorino and murders him underneath the Statue of Happiness.

After being shot down on the island, a dying Pegorino is approached by Niko, furious over Kate McReary's death. Niko angrily asks what Kate did to deserve her fate, and Jimmy explains that the intended target was Niko. Niko recounts his deals with Jon Gravelli to Jimmy, explaining that the Commission families thought Pegorino's organization was a "fat fucking joke." Laughing, Niko turns away from Pegorino, and Pegorino raises his pistol; Niko casually turns back around and ends Pegorino's life with a single shot between the eyes from his AK-47.
