Max Payne is a videogame series developed by Remedy Entertainment. The newest installment Max Payne 3 was developed by Rockstar Vancouver. In 2001 the first Max Payne game was released for Microsoft Windows and in 2002 it was released for Xbox, PlayStation 2, and Apple Macintosh; a special version of the game was also released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. The sequel, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was released in 2003 for PC, Xbox and the PS2.

In 2009, Rockstar announced Max Payne 3, being developed by Rockstar Vancouver and currently scheduled for the release in March 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
