The diamonds obtained from the previous mission were never delivered to Ray. Believing Luca and his friends are to blame, he sends Niko to Castle Gardens to retrieve the diamonds from them.

As you approach their car, they can be overheard discussing a trip to Las Venturas. Niko confronts them about the missing diamonds, but Luca feigns innocence and claims he gave them to Ray. Taking offense to Niko, Luca and crew race off to tell Ray that it was Niko who actually stole the diamonds. Niko steals a nearby Banshee and chases Luca through Star Junction until Luca's car plows through some tables in Middle Park and ends up crashing into a statue.

Luca escapes on foot and flees into the bathrooms where Niko gives chase, taking down Luca's men along the way. Niko eventually corners Luca in the bathroom, having hidden in a stall. Luca attempts to bribe Niko with a cut of the diamonds in return for sparing his life, but Niko executes him with a shot to the neck.

Afterwards, Niko calls Ray only to find out that his job was to simply just retrieve the diamonds, not kill Luca. Niko then meets Ray on the overpass bridge in Middle Park where he gives back the diamonds.

-Ray never got his diamonds.  They disappeared after they were picked up by Niko and the crew.  Ray has a gut feeling that Niko did not have anything to do with it, so he sends him to retrieve them from Luca and his pals, who he says they hang out in Castle Gardens.  As Niko approaches them, they can be heard in their Lokus , anticipating their trip to Las Venturas.  Niko confronts them, and tells them to not play dumb, and just give him the diamonds.  Luca and his crew feign offense to this statement, and the last thing they say before speeding off is that they're going to tell Ray that it was Niko that ripped him off.  Niko steals a Banshee (dragging the owner behind it) and chases Niko through Star Junction until Luca's car speeds through a cafe and plowing through tables in Middle Park,  ends up crashing into a statue and flips over. Luca then attempts to escape into the toilets.  Niko enters the park on foot, and takes down all of Luca's crew.  Niko corners Luca himself in the bathroom, having hidden in a stall.  Luca pleads for his life, attempting to bribe Niko with a cut of the diamonds and spare his life.  Niko plugs Luca (while he's sitting on the john, lol) with a shot from his pistol and shoots him in the neck.  Niko gets in touch with Ray over the phone and finds out that his job was to simply retrieve the ice, not kill Luca.  Oops. Niko then meets Ray in his Oracle on the overpass bridge in Middle Park and gives Ray the diamonds.
