The Mr. Tasty is an ice cream truck available in Grand Theft Auto IV, replacing Mr. Whoopee. It is similar to the Boxville manufactured by Brute, but with modified headlights and grille and is much smaller; overall the truck resembles a '98 Chevrolet P30 Ice Cream Truck. Along with the Mr. Whoopee, it is a parody of Mister Softee.
Locations
Can be found parked around or circling the parks in Dukes, Broker and Algonquin, mainly Middle Park , Steinway and Meadows Park.
Jingle
The jingle of Mr. Tasty can be toggled by tapping the horn button. Turning it on and off will produce a different jingle each time. The faster the truck moves, the faster the jingle is. Reversing the truck will reverse the jingle. When moderately damaged, the jingle begins to distort. When severely damaged, the music completely dies out, although the horn still functions.
The following is a list of jingles played by the Mr. Tasty, five of which are based on traditional folk songs and orchestral pieces:
- Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy
- Greensleeves
- Scarborough
- Flight of the Bumblebee
- Ride of the Valkyries
- GTA IV theme song, "Soviet Connection"
Health cheat
- If the player calls ZiT! while the GTA IV jingle is playing, it will activate a health cheat (this will block certain Trophies/Achievements).
Trivia
Reversing with no jingle playing, makes an unusual chiming sound (as opposed to beeping).
