The RC Baron is a small remote controlled plane that appears in both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The RC Baron's red color and name is based off the Red Baron, an ace pilot from World War I.
In Vice City, the Baron is used in the mission Bombs Away! and for the RC Baron Race. The race is located on top of a multistory parking lot at North Point Mall by entering a Top Fun van.
In San Andreas, the Baron is used in two missions for Zero: Air Raid, where it was used against Zero, and Supply Lines..., where CJ uses it in order to help Zero to destroy Berkley's delivery system. The Baron has a machine gun, a self destruct capability, along with a fuel meter during that mission. The Baron is also used in an optional side-mission Beefy Baron.
You cannot obtain this vehicle outside the missions without trainers or modifications. If you can get one by simply spawning one, there will be no self destruct capability. In San Andreas, the Baron's machine gun still works.
Trivia
- The engine noise of the RC Baron is the same as the PCJ 600's engine noise from Vice City. This same engine noise was passed on to San Andreas.(?)
