Friends are minor characters found standing on the street in GTA IV. Their presences are indicated, only when the player is nearby, by small blue person icons on the radar. They provide Niko with small storylines and minor missions to do.
The Xbox 360 achievement "No More Strangers" involves locating all of them and helping each one out at least once.
