Reni Wassulmaier is a transsexual avant-garde film director from Germany (circa 1984) in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and a DJ for Flashback FM circa 1998 in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. In her appearances in both games, Reni is voiced by Barbara Rosenblatt.

Description

GTA Liberty City Stories

In Reni's first appearance in GTA Liberty City Stories, Reni is a preceding DJ of Flashback FM prior to Toni (who will become the station's DJ in 2001, Grand Theft Auto III's time period). Like Toni on Flashback FM in GTA III, Reni would reminiscent the past (specifically, the 1970s and 1980s), but also comments frequently about transgenderism and her own sexual preferences. Reni has also implied to have conducted surgery to attain "titties", a revelation which is explored during events in GTA Vice City Stories.

GTA Vice City Stories

Throughout most of GTA Vice City Stories, Reni is a man before getting her fourth complete sex change operation at the end of her arc. She is known for shooting avant-garde art films which include child torture in a Berlin pizza parlor and a rhinoceros making love to a neon sign. Reni moved her entire production company to Vice City, where she will produce commercials and "edgy" pop music videos.

She is attacked as she introduces Vic to Ricardo Diaz, the Mendez brothers' rival, but is saved by Vic and makes it to a hospital to undergo the aforementioned sex change to conceal her identity. After receiving a new look (as well as an aparently new pair of breasts), Reni abandons advertising for the exotic adult film industry in Europe, while Vic questions Reni's manly parts, such as her large hands. It seems she took a liking to Vic even calling him her "Nubian Adonis."

Reni implies that he/she has had sexual experiences with Barry and Diego, even saying that she had a relationship with Diego.
