There are many restricted areas throughout the Grand Theft Auto series. The player will gain an instant Wanted Level by entering these areas.

Contents
GTA Vice City
*El Banco Corrupto Grande, a bank (<small>4 stars</small>).
*Washington Beach Police Station, the only accessable police station in Vice City (Player access will result in a 2-star wanted level unless wearing the Cop Uniform).

Easter Basin Naval Base is a genuine army dock. On its Aircraft Carrier is a Hydra jet. A random civilian vehicle spawns in one of the parking spaces. There is an army Barracks OL truck on the opposite side. Also near that is a Reefer boat. Inside one of the three submarine pens in the base is a Launch military boat
GTA San Andreas
*San Fierro, Flint County and Whetstone (<small>until the mission The Green Sabre is completed, 4 stars</small>).
Area 69 is a TOP SECRET government research base possibly covering alien tecnology and refers to the real life "Area 51" in Nevada.
*Las Venturas, Bone County and Tierra Robada (<small>until the mission Yay Ka-Boom-Boom is completed, 4 stars</small>).
Inside area 69 you will find a Barracks OL, a Patriot, a Cargobob helicopter, Hydras and Rhino tanks.
*Area 69, a secret military research facility (<small>5 stars</small>).
*Easter Basin Naval Station, a military base (<small>5 stars</small>).
*Police impound garage at the Los Santos police headquarters (<small>3 stars, unless driving any police vehicle or sneaking in without being noticed</small>)

Problems
GTA IV
*Algonquin (<small>until the mission Blow Your Cover is completed, 6 stars</small>)
*Alderney (<small>until the mission Three Leaf Clover is completed, 6 stars</small>)
*Francis International Airport airside area, an airport (<small>4 stars or 2 stars if flying a helicopter close to the area</small>).
*Civilization Committee complex, the international organization's headquarters (<small>4 stars or 2 stars if flying a helicopter close to the building</small>).
*Alderney State Correctional Facility, a prison only restricted in GTA IV's episodes (<small>3 stars</small>).

The main problem with exploring Restricted areas is that if you step inside or very close to them then you will instantly obtain a 5 Star Wanted Level. FBI vehicles will chase you so you will have to get to a Pay 'n' Spray quickly.
GTA V and GTA Online
*Bolingbroke Penitentiary, a prison (<small>4 stars or 2 stars when flying over the prison</small>).
Also area 69 is a very strict No-Fly Zone. Any aircraft flying over it will be shot down via the Various SAM sights around the base. The SAM sites will fire heat seeking SAM missiles. To avoid this threat, go around Area 69 or fly at a very high altitude.
*Fort Zancudo, a military base (<small>4 stars or 2 stars if briefly flying over Fort Zancudo's airspace</small>).
*Humane Labs and Research, a research facility (<small>4 stars, GTA V only</small>).
*Los Santos Golf Club, a golf course (<small>2 stars if flying low over the course</small>)
*Los Santos International Airport, an airport (<small>3 stars, can be avoided as Franklin Clinton and Michael De Santa by purchasing a hangar at the airport</small>).
*Los Santos Naval Port, a naval ship yard (<small>4 stars, GTA V only</small>)
*Mission Row Police Station, a police station (<small>the player can access the reception area without obtaining a wanted level, 2 stars</small>)
