Sammy "Sonny" Bottino is a mentioned character in Grand Theft Auto IV and a forty-three year old member of the Gambetti Family. He had been Don Jon Gravelli's right hand man but went into hiding due to murder charges in Vice City. Since going into hiding, he has been replaced by Roy Zito as the acting underboss of the Gambetti Family. Bottino has been arrested on four occasions: in 1981 for grand theft auto, in 1982 for hijacking, in 1984 for manslaughter and in 1993 for racketeering.
In Grand Theft Auto V, the player (as any of the three protagonists) can happen upon a random event where two men are about to bury a young woman alive. After being rescued, the young woman will identify herself as Antonia Bottino and reveal that Sammy, her father, was "pinched in 2011" and copped a plea deal giving up a lot of people. As of 2013, he is sitting in 5-star cell while Antonia suffers from the consequences. Shortly after delivering her to safety, the character who rescued her will get a brief phone call from her and receive a $60,000 reward.
