Senator Lawton is an American politician and the countries former President, as well as being the father of incumbent President Joe Lawton. He is a parody of former US President George H.W. Bush, the father of former president George W. Bush.

After his presidency, he became a United States Senator (Conspire suggests that he might be representing Liberty State). All 20th century presidents retired from politics after their tenure, though many vice presidents returned to subordinate public office, most recently Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale.
