The Speeder name was originally adopted for a sports car in the original Grand Theft Auto, but was to be associated with a speed boat in games after GTA III.

The Speeder is a speed boat which appears in every game in the GTA III era. It is a very good boat in terms of handling and speed. It is the fastest boat in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, the third fastest in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as well as fourth fastest in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is one of the easiest boats to obtain, and can be found at many docks and ports throughout the cities. In GTA Vice City Stories, this boat is very rare and can only be obtained during the smuggling side-missions.

- Docked on the pier by Asuka Kasen's Condo in Newport, Staunton Island.
- Docked by the runway at Francis International Airport.

- Docked by the marina in Viceport.

- Docked by a pier east of Garver Bridge, across the Easter Basin Naval Station.
GTA Liberty City Stories
- Docked at the pier by Asuka Kasen's condo in Newport, the same spot as in GTA III.
GTA Vice City Stories
- Can only be obtained during the smuggling side-missions.
