The Spider is a convertible roadster in Grand Theft Auto: London 1961.
Design
The Spider may be based on a Series 1 Alfa Romeo Spider, although various cosmetic touch-ups were made to give the car an older look (such as hinges on the trunk lid), and the original Alfa Romeo Spider was actually launched in 1966, five years after GTA London 1961's setting. The exact origins of the Spider's name is not fully understood. "Spider" may refer to any vehicle that is a roadster, which the Spider is. The "Spider" name may also be a simple shortening of the Alfa Romeo Spider name.
Despite its sporty appearance, the car's performance is average, with slightly below average top speed and handling, and average acceleration and braking. However, the car has good grip, as well as a higher base export value of £800 in mint condition.
