A Sultan RS.

The Sultan RS is a highly modified and sporty variant of the Sultan in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Description

Design

The Sultan RS is designed from the highly customized HKS Widebody Altezza. The Altezza is the Japanese Domestic Market counterpart to the U.S. Lexus IS300. Though the IS300 was not sold in the united states as a 2-door, it was available in Japan and europe.

The HKS Altezza has a fully customized complete carbon fiber wide body. A custom designed AWD drivetrain, that get the power to the wheel through a 6-speed sequential transmission. The power is provided by a 3S-GE 4 cylinder engine mounted as close to the firewall as possible to acheive 50-50 weight distribution. Every internal part of the engine are fully custom, aside from the block. The 3S-GE is turbocharged with an HKS GT3037S ball-bearing turbine and everything else that the HKS engineers found fit to throw at it, with boost pressure running at 24 psi. The HKS Altezza is rated at 600 hp at 8,000 rpm and an even more impressive 450 lb-ft of torque at 6,000. It weighs around 2,000 pounds. Final drive is set at 4.375.

With the Price tag set at $300,000+ USD, the only purpose of the car was to break the Tsukuba race track in Japan. Which it did, shattering the previous record by 2 seconds

According to the rocker covers on the engine, as well as the model marque on the boot, it has a 3.5L Twin Turbo powerplant. The car utilizes an AWD drivetrain. It also comes with a carbon fiber hood, roll cage, side exit large-bore exhaust, black race rims, and low-profile tires. Some also have a carbon fiber boot lid, hood scoop, and metallic paint.

Performance

The exhaust system of the Sultan RS is prone to letting unburnt fuel explode in flames from the sidepipes, a trait common to only the most powerful cars in the game. This occurs during throttle liftoff after high revving. The RS is also equipped with a blowoff valve on the turbo which causes a whipping sound when the throttle is released.

This car is extremely quick, and is considered to be one of the best handling and accelerating vehicles in the game. The Sultan RS is clearly a sports car tuned for asphalt racing, and so its hard suspension and low profile tires make it difficult to drive off road. Strangely though, for a vehicle as sporty as this, it does not have ABS as an option; even as it's base (The Sultan) has ABS as standard. Even with ABS missing, the Sultan RS has very powerful brakes, bringing the vehicle from it's top speed to a standstill in very short distances.

Trivia

  • Driving the Sultan RS around often results in the rare Sentinel XS STD spawning more frequently
  • The Sultan RS has satellite navigation, complete with spoken directions; which is unusual in what seems to be a stripped down, lightweight race car.
  • This vehicle cannot be sold to Stevie.

Locations

The Sultan RS is extremely rare, and is not ordinarily found on the street. It is sometimes seen competing in Brucie's races, but stealing one will end the race and count as a loss to the player. One parked Sultan RS, however, is available behind the garage of a run-down mansion in Westdyke, Alderney; the mansion is located at the end of a dirt road.
