Surface-to-Air Missile

The SAM system, which stands for Surface to Air Missle is a new unmanned weapon system that showed up in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Unfortunately it cannot be used by the player, and is rather used against him/her. They are found on Area 51 on San Andreas and will fire guided missles at any plane or helicopter or jetpack that flies over the base. The launchers can be temporarily destroyed; and will respawn once the player is far enough. Caution must be taken when flying over these as they will take down any helicopter; and all but the fastest planes. The Hydra can launch countermeasures (flares) that can deter the missles.
