Do we have any sort of guidelines for when to use external links? I don't know whether to mark this edit patrolled because I'm not sure that it benefits the article to link to those pages. --GuildKnightTalk2me 21:25, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

I marked it patrolled because I think those links are fine. For example, I added Wikipedia links to NYC locations in the Liberty City in GTA IV article. I've always found external links good for any "is based on" for pages like places, weapons, etc. Of course, Gboyers can probably give you some "official" guidelines. EDIT: And about this article, I think it's just that we have to assume that people don't know what those places are (even though most people would have heard of them).
