If a talk page name isn't given then a link to [[TALKPAGENAME]] is created (which is obviously wrong, so I tried to use '''<nowiki>{{#if:{{{2|}}}|}}</nowiki>''' to stop it from showing a discuss button if a talk page is not given. Then I tested it, as can be seen on [http://gta.wikia.com/index.php?title=User:Biggest_gta_fan_ever&oldid=79738 this] revision of my [[User:Biggest gta fan ever|userpage]], by having a move with talk page, move without, merge with, merge without; and it didn't even show discuss links for the ones that did have them, so I reverted my edits to both templates. What does everyone else think of this idea anyway? '''[[User:Biggest gta fan ever|Biggest GTA Fan Ever]]''[[User talk:Biggest gta fan ever|Talk]]''''' 09:22, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Reason

Does anyone like the idea of adding a reason to the template. Usually moves are for obvious reasons and don't require a discussion, on such an occasion, the template is so that staff can easily find the page. However I just moved a page, and looking at the old title and the suggested title, there wasn't much difference so it wasn't obvious at first. What I'm suggesting is for example: It has been suggested to move this page to Template:Move (capitalisation) - discuss. The brackets would be automatic, so to achieve this, the user would type: {{move|Template:Move|capitalisation|Template talk:Move}}. Thoughts? Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 09:30, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

No Talk Page Given

While I'm waiting for someone to reply to that, I will bring this up. This applies to both Template:Move and Template:Merge.

If a talk page name isn't given then a link to TALKPAGENAME is created (which is obviously wrong), so I tried to use {{#if:{{{2|}}}|}} to stop it from showing a discuss link if a talk page is not given. Then I tested it, as can be seen on this revision of my userpage, by having a move with talk page, move without, merge with, merge without; and it didn't even show discuss links for the ones that did have them, so I reverted my edits to both templates. What does everyone else think of this idea anyway? Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 09:22, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
