Personal Notes

  • No watch/unwatch tab
  • Can't go to wiki userpage or edit userpage
  • Is "move" a restricted option?
Hi GK! Great to see you back! And congratulations too! Regarding the above, the watch tab is in the dropdown arrow next to 'view history' - I'll see if I can promote that to being a full tab. To get to your wiki-style userpage, you need to hit the orange button "Use Wiki Userpage". And yes, move is restricted to trusted members (which you now are) and staff. It's easy enough for people to use {{move}} or ask staff to do it, so it just avoids a lot of problems. Gboyers 14:32, 18 October 2010 (BST)
Also, some images have not managed to be copied from Wikia, so we're having to copy these over manually. See issues for all the problems. Gboyers 14:34, 18 October 2010 (BST)
Thanks on both counts! Ok, I see the watch option. I couldn't get it to load my wiki-style userpage earlier, it just refreshed the other one, but it's working now. And where's the move option? Also, what are we doing with the images? Just downloading them from the wikia and then uploading them here? I can help with that, too. --GuildKnighttalk2me 14:36, 18 October 2010 (BST)
Oh sorry no it wasn't trusted users, it was inspectors/moderators/patrollers. I've made you admin again so you should be able to move now from the top tabs or dropdown. And yes, we're just saving and uploading any missing images. You don't need to make the page or add the copyright stuff, as the File: pages are all there already, just not the images themselves. One thing to note is that some galleries in pages aren't working even though the images are there, as we now need to add "File:" to the start of every image name (unlike on wikia). Ah, thanks! And be sure to let me know if I do anything wierd, since I've been away for a while!  :) --GuildKnighttalk2me 15:15, 18 October 2010 (BST)
It's possible for Gerard to enable a watch "button" (outside of the drop down menu) instead of the "Watch" tab, using $wgVectorUseIconWatch = true; - however, I just tried it out in a test wiki in my localhost, and it's really poorly implemented. There isn't even any way of knowing whether you're already watching the page or not, the button is identical either way. Welcome back

Just to say that it's great to see you back with us. A-Dust 00:12, 29 October 2010 (BST)

Thanks! I'm probably not going to be quite as active as I once was, considering my pregnancy (:D) but it's great to be back. I'm also still quite active on the Elder Scrolls wiki, and I'm playing a lot of New Vegas at the moment, too (though I definitely won't be on that wiki, since it's a wikia), but it's great to be back among y'all. Feel free to point me to any conversations I should follow, since I don't have all the appropriate pages watched, anymore. --GuildKnighttalk2me 02:49, 29 October 2010 (BST)

Staff Roles

Hi, could you please fill out your section of the table at Grand Theft Wiki:Staff/Roles? That page explains the reasons, but we're just trying to assign staff some responsibility and ownership of their own sections, and give you a bit more room to do what you want to do. Thanks - Gboyers 00:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
