Re: Pedestrian Dialogue Audio

You replied whilst I was still testing! The template I built above is collapsible which solves the issue. I know the page will take a long time to load on mobiles/dialup, but that will be the same whether it shows the audio files or thousands of lines of dialogue, so we might as well go all the way and put in everything we need! gboyers ^talk 15:14, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Site Transfer

I just saw your comment saying Grand Theft Wiki is 'not the same' as the GTA Wikia, and I was hoping you could help me understand that a bit better? It's not as crowded on here, but that gives us a much more manageable site as we concentrate more on quality than volume of contributions - although without resorting to competence policies. You might also notice that some of our members operate under bot flags so their edits don't clog up Recent Changes. I know this is a fairly quiet week from a staff point too, but we're with Rockstar this week so aren't able to be on here as much as we normally would. As for the atmosphere on GTW, I was hoping you would give us more of a chance than just one day!

But mainly, I think you'll find that we just don't have any of the drama and stress that seems to be a constant feature of the GTA Wikia - as proved by how many staff come and go there. I think it says something that we have never had a staff member resign in anger or revoke their own privileges - everyone here just gets on with making an awesome wiki. But also, we have some exciting plans in the works for release very soon, including a whole new dimension to the site, which I think you'll find quite interesting when they're made public!

I just ask that you take the time to make your own decision on where you want to be, which site you want to be a part of, and give each a fair shot. Only you can decide whether you want the drama-filled atmosphere of GTA Wikia, or the positive environment of Grand Theft Wiki. That's fair enough. Not sure if you saw what I left for Jeff the other day, but that explains my feelings about having two separate/competing sites. It's not about 'beating' gta.wikia or getting one-over on the staff there, it's just about making an awesome wiki (without being forced to host it at Wikia). I think maintaining the other wiki just helps fuel the competition and division between the sites, so I would like to see us join forces and consolidate someday. gboyers ^talk 18:46, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
