A yacht refers to any watercraft designed for recreational or leisurely use. Although this covers sailboats and power boats, speed boats are not included under this classification. In the Grand Theft Auto series, yachts have appear in controllable form since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City; larger yachts, however, are often depicted as static, uncontrollable props.

Controllable yachts include:

The Tropic;
the Marquis; and
the Rio.

Uncontrollable yachts include:

Colonel Cortez's yacht in GTA Vice City; and
Frickie Van Hardenburg's yacht in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
