I&#039;m unaware of the exact year GTA IV is set in, although I would not trust anything posted on Facebook, regardless of whether the word official appears or not. It could also be out of date. Plus, earlier on I was looking at the LCPD Police Database and when I clicked on Niko&#039;s profile, it read that he had been arrested in 2008 for something or other, suggesting the game is set in 2008. However, I can not find anything reliable either way. I&#039;ll bring this up at the articles talk page, so as others can have their say and see if we can discover the year the game is set in.
