The Army Fatigues is an unlockable outfit in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories for protagonist Victor Vance, fashioned as army attire.

Description

The Army Fatigues is designed as very basic casual military attire, consisting of a beige t-shirt, camouflage military slacks, dog tags, and, presumably, black military boots (mostly concealed under the slacks).

The Army Fatigues is the first outfit that the player character wears in GTA Vice City Stories, starting with "Soldier". Due to serving for the army throughout the early stages of the game, the player character will only be dressed in the outfit up until "Conduct Unbecoming", when the player character is discharged and the Army Fatigues becomes unavailable to the player (the player's default outfit changes to the Casuals), up until "Over the Top", after which the outfit becomes available to the player again.

Similar to the cop uniform in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the Army Fatigues carries a perk that allows players wearing the outfit to enter unrestricted into the Fort Baxter Air Base and venture freely inside the base without being attacked by surrounding soldiers. The player can also steal military vehicles from within the Fort Baxter Air Base or police vehicles from police stations without getting a wanted level. However, the outfit does not offer immunity to other forms of crime, including the murder of soldiers or police officers.

Like other clothes in the game, changing into the outfit will remove up to a two star wanted level.

Trivia

  • The outfit is the first full military attire in the series that can be worn by the player character.
  • The outfit originally read, "USMC", meaning Victor joined the Marine Corps. and not the Army.
