The Assault Shotgun, based on the Armsel Striker (also commonly known as the "DAO-12" and "Streetsweeper"), is a shotgun featured in the downloadable episodic pack The Lost and Damned for Grand Theft Auto IV. It is a fully automatic shotgun that can easily pierce through enemies and destroy vehicles (even low-flying choppers), with 8 shells per magazine. It first appears in the mission Heavy Toll when Johnny Klebitz, along with Malc and DeSean, stop a convoy and steals a van full of cocaine. It can be purchased from Terry's gun van and will spawn at the player's safehouses after 40 gang wars.

Trivia

  • In Heavy Toll, Johnny says "Fuck me, this is an American weapon" even though Strikers are made in South Africa. However, there is an American Cobray model as well.
  • The Assault Shotgun shown in-game is similar in appearance to the DAO-12 Streetsweeper, however the DAO-12 is actually semi-auto. The Assault Shotgun behaves more like an AA-12, a full-auto shotgun that is featured in The Ballad of Gay Tony as the Automatic Shotgun.
  • If the player blind fires with the shotgun he will be seen pumping the gun after every shot is fired, even though it is fully automatic. This also limits the blindfiring speed to the Pump Action Shotgun as it uses the same animation. The Combat Shotgun and the Automatic Shotgun also have this problem.
