Cop (outfit)

The Cop Uniform is a recurring item of clothing in the Grand Theft Auto Series. As, the name states, it is the uniform of the Police. It appears in every Grand Theft Auto game but only one game allows the player to wear the Cop Uniform - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. If Tommy Vercetti wears the cop uniform, he can access all areas of the Fort Baxter Air Base and the Washington Beach Police Station without getting a wanted level or getting shot by the police or military. This can be useful, as Tommy can hijack unoccupied police or military vehicles without getting a wanted level. However, the cop uniform does not give the player full immunity from the military or police. If Tommy Vercetti commits a crime, he gets a wanted level even if he is wearing a cop uniform. Likewise, killing a soldier in the Fort Baxter Air Base will cause all of the soldiers to turn on and attack Tommy even if he is wearing a cop uniform. The cop uniform is used in two storyline missions in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City; Cop Land and No Escape?. After Cop Land, the cop uniform spawns in the Washington Beach Police Station's locker room. Changing into it will get rid of a one or two star wanted level, even if the player is already wearing it.
