He has been famous since 1980 as the lead singer/tambourinist of ''Ambulance'', a "power pop reggae afro-beat" band. He claims that his two bandmates (one named [[Trev]]) were his best friends since childhood. Crow got 80% of the band's royalties, and left the band in three days before a world tour after ugly arguments over said royalties. His first solo project was a 1984 charity concert in Africa (all according to the [[Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories]] website).
