Doherty

Doherty is a district of San Fierro. It is an industrial area located in the southeast of the city, which is in the process of being renovated, an example of which being the building site next to CJ's garage. The district's need for renovation is significantly heightened when CJ destroys the Loco Syndicate's drug factory.

This area is home to members of San Fierro Rifa, who will occasionally accost the player, urging engagement in physical combat. A particularly prominent hang-out spot for the Rifa is directly in front of CJ's garage.

Events of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Doherty is the first stop for Carl Johnson after entering San Fierro, as he headsfor his garage, which is an abandoned Xoomer gas station. Kendl Johnson persuades Carl to ignore his anger for Claude and Catalina, and help build the garage up into a business. Carl then befriends and employs Dwaine, Jethro and Zero, who along with Cesar Vialpando begin to run the garage.

Carl destroys part of Doherty that was being used by the Loco Syndicate as a drugs factory. Carl also purchases a home south of his garage and later purchases Wang Cars, a car dealership located on the border of Doherty and Downtown. Carl continues to run both businesses through out GTA: SA.
