The Dollar is the money used in the Grand Theft Auto series, represented by a $. This is the closest a player gets to earning 'points', as is the case in other games.

This is most likely representative of the US Dollar used in the United States of America, due to that being the setting for all but two GTA games to date (the two that aren't set in USA use the pound sign). It is directly said so by a military personnel in Area 69 during the mission Black Project in the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, saying that the stolen Jetpack was " a 60,000,000 dollar project!" .

Dollars are the unit of measure of rank on GTA 4 Multiplayer. Basically, the more money you havem, the higher your rank. Below is the chart showing how much is need to get to each rank.
