Explosive Situation is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas given to protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson by blind Chinese-American San Fierro Triads leader Wu Zi "Woozie" Mu from his managerial suite office at The Four Dragons Casino, located along The Strip in Las Venturas, San Andreas.

Mission

Carl has just frightened the thug he met before into revealing that the Sindacco Family has been responsible for the trouble being caused to Woozie's new casino venture. Armed with this information, Carl is poised to push the mafia families out of Las Venturas, and begins to systematically dismantle their presence, which is possible through a daring heist. Woozie next asks Carl to acquire a stash of dynamite being used at nearby Hunter Quarry. Carl goes there, collects the dynamite which were set to blow, and gets out of the quarry, while avoiding security. Carl then gives the explosives to Guppy, who was waiting outside the quarry.

Script

(Woozie is playing minigolf in his room. He makes a putt, and lieutenant Guppy places the cup so that Woozie gets a hole-in-one.)

Woozie: Ha ha ha! The glorious sound of a hole-in-one!

Guppy: Great shot, boss.

Woozie: Thanks.

CJ: Not bad, Woozie.

Woozie: So the Sindacco Family was behind the attempts to sabotage our venture. I wonder why it's only them and not the others.

CJ: Probably ain't just them. Rule of the streets: don't snitch. What we need...is to hit the mafia casino. Yeah, go jack the place.

Woozie: Hey, hitting a casino isn't like gangbanging - it's a whole different league!

CJ: Yeah, you're right, it'll take some planning, but I'm down. Shit, I always wanted to pull a heist.

(Carl makes a putt, and Guppy moves the cup so he misses.)

CJ: What the - ?

Woozie: Bad luck. Listen. You're gonna need a crew and some special equipment.

CJ: Yeah, it'll take some explosives. Always got to blow up shit to pull a heist.

Woozie: You know what? There's an open cast mine southwest of the city limits. They must have explosives.

CJ: I'll go peep it out.

(Carl steals four bundles of dynamite and delivers it to the drop point where a Triad member, apparently Guppy, is waiting.)

CJ: Special delivery for Woozie. Hey, be careful with that.

Reward

The rewards for completing the mission are $7,000 and an increase in respect. The missions Architectural Espionage and You've Had Your Chips are unlocked. The Quarry side mission is also unlocked.

Trivia

  • An easy way to complete the mission is to snipe all the engineers and the detonator observer on the phone from a safe distance each and pull out the engineer commanding the forklift truck to kill him. Using the forklift truck, Carl can transport all crates out of the quarry and then board the dumper truck, drive it out of the quarry to the location of the dynamite crates, and then break the crates to collect the dynamite. Following this procedure, the security cutscene will still play, but once it ends the player will simply receive the instruction of driving to the dropoff point.
