The HD Universe is a fictional universe where the cities, characters and storylines are all connected. The HD Universe covers Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and Grand Theft Auto V. So, for example, Liberty City as seen in GTA IV and Los Santos in GTA V both exist in the same world, but the Liberty City first seen in GTA III is not as the HD universe is separate from the 2D and 3D universes.
