The Haitians are a street gang and Cartel from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. They are the main rivals of the Cubans, and they vie for control of the poorer neighborhoods of Vice City (Little Haiti and Little Havana).

Auntie Poulet, the leader, gives Tommy Vercetti mind-altering drugs to make him use less-than-honest tactics in their war against the Cubans. Vercetti, angered and spurred by his friendship with the Cubans, utterly massacres members of the Haitian gang and completely destroys their large drug manufacturing plant(see: Haitian Drug Factory) (killing many more members in the process), thereby severing all ties with Poulet and the gang. As Haitian gang members are still seen on the streets of Little Haiti, now becoming a threat to Tommy (unless Tommy's gangs are guarding his business). Now Little Haiti becomes a dangerous area as Haitians are seen roaming around and they will shoot Tommy on sight if they spot him.

In GTA: Vice City Stories, the Haitian gang does not make an appearance and Little Haiti is under the control of the Cholos. In-game, it is presumed that after Victor Vance wiped out a very large majority of the Cholos, Little Haiti came under the control of the Vance Crime Family [while a small number of Cholos still lived in Little Haiti, they had no real power]. After both Vic and Lance Vance leave the city, it is believed the Haitian gang formed and took over Little Haiti. Outside of the game, it is most likely because of the negative attention that Rockstar gained from Haitian and Haitian-American groups that forced Rockstar to remove all Haitian slurs from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Haitian gang members are seen wearing either blue shirts (reading RELAX), white pants and baseball caps, or sky blue sleeveless shirts, jeans and blue bandannas.

Haitian-American discrimination controversy

The third version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City had all references to the Haitian people removed, (along with a number of other trademarks), in response to Cuban and Haitian groups in the United States, who threatened to use action against Rockstar Games, on the basis that they were being discriminated against.
