Description
There is very little known history of the Harwood Train Yard. All that's known is that the yard was part of a railroad line connecting Harwood and Portland View to Portland Harbor via a tunnel underneath the district of Saint Mark's. No one knows exactly when the line was abandoned, but the line appears as though it hasn't been used in over 50 years, at the most.
The yard has been in disuse since at least 1998, the setting of GTA Liberty City Stories. The yard was the terminus of a railroad line connecting Harwood and Portland View to Portland Harbor via a tunnel underneath the district of Saint Mark's. The yard contains two tracks joining to one and abruptly ending at the tunnel, and a few old rusting flatcars on the tracks. The player is able to enter the tunnel by driving around the old loading freight platforms and onto the tracks, then turning west into the tunnel, which exits behind Supa Save!/Fidl in Portland Harbor.

As of 2001, the yard still exists with track and a few old rusting away flat cars. The tunnel is still there to this day, but most of the rails have been removed in it (only a tiny section goes into the tunnel before it ends abruptly). The player is able to enter the tunnel by driving around the old loading freight platforms and onto the tracks, then turning west into the tunnel, which exits behind Supa Save!/Fidl in Portland Harbor.

The Harwood train yard and tunnel, as viewed to the southwest in GTA III.

The unnamed Harwood train yard is a disused railroad yard in Grand Theft Auto III and in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

Description

The yard has been in disuse since at least 1998, the setting of GTA Liberty City Stories. The yard was the terminus of a railroad line connecting Harwood and Portland View to Portland Harbor via a tunnel underneath the district of Saint Mark's. The yard contains two tracks joining to one and abruptly ending at the tunnel, and a few old rusting flatcars on the tracks. The player is able to enter the tunnel by driving around the old loading freight platforms and onto the tracks, then turning west into the tunnel, which exits behind Supa Save!/Fidl in Portland Harbor.
