Leftwood

Leftwood is a multi-cultural small area in Northern Alderney in Grand Theft Auto IV. Leftwood is based on Bergen County, New Jersey. It acts as a transition district between the suburbia of Westdyke to the north, and the more concentrated, urban centre: Alderney City to the south. For that reason, Leftwood has mixed land uses. Towards the south of the district, there are more services and denser land use, whilst further north, Leftwood becomes a quieter and more residential locale. Despite its name, Westdyke Memorial Hospital is actually located in western Leftwood. Leftwood police station is also located in eastern Leftwood. The town has some regular sized houses along Flathead Rd, and it's Westdyke border. But towards it's center on Franklin Street, three to five story apartment and retail buildings stand next to eachother.

The city is populated by primarily a mix of Portuguese and Italians. The town hall on Franklin, which overlooks Catskill has a bilingual banner marking that it's the community center in English and Portuguese, and even has a Portuguese flag, while down the street on Franklin, another banner hangs over the street that says 'Get Stuffed!' with an Italian flag.

-''TRANSPORTATION''. Getting across Leftwood is extremely easily. To get from the Police station in the east, to the hospital in the west, travel through Franklin Street west, and turn left on Long John, and you pass a number of the retail building in downtown Leftwood, untill Long John ends at Manzano Road, and a park/beach across the street. To get to Leftwood from Westdyke, Sacramento, Bridger, or Beaverhead south can all be used. From anywhere else in Alderney, Rand Avenue in Alderney City takes you across the Plumbers Skyway to the east, and many streets including Bowline, Catskill Avenue, Hubbard Avenue (which intersects with Panhandle, just in Leftwood), and Lockowski which turns into Manzano, can be used to get to the west. From the Hickey Bridge the intersection with Rand avenue can take you into the center of Leftwood by making a right (the Hickey and Plumbers Skyway straight-away are in Leftwood already). To get to the Hospital and the west, follow the Plumbers Skyway to the first exit to Manzano Avenue.
