Life's a Beach is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, given to protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson by part-time Grove Street Families member and aspiring rapper Jeffrey "OG Loc" Cross from the employees' door at the back of Burger Shot, Marina, Los Santos, San Andreas.
Note. This mission can only be started from between 20:00 and 06:00.
Mission
Carl recently helped out Loc by taking out a Vagos gang member who "disrespected" him in the joint. Now in a technical job at a Burger Shot, Loc is planning on putting together a house party for his album release, but he needs a sound system to pump out his tunes. Apparently, a beach party is going down in the nearby Santa Maria Beach and it so happens that the organizers have a sound system in the back of a Pony van.
Carl goes to the party and meets up with the DJ, but in order to get to the sound system, he is challenged to a dance battle, requiring the player score a minimum of 2500 points to pass. Once Carl has successfully passed the challenge, the DJ invites Carl into her van, which she refers as her "office". Given the opportunity, Carl steals the van, throwing the DJ out and prompting the party goers to pull out machine pistols and fire upon the van, with two of them pursuing the van in two cars. In the ensuing chaos, Carl takes the van to a garage in Commerce, completing the mission.
Script
CJ: Looking real technical, gangsta!
OG Loc: Carl? You ain't run off again, yet?
CJ: No, gangsta, I'm here for good.
OG Loc: Yeah? (pushes off the cleaner) Well, fuck this gig, man. I'm putting together a listening party for my album, but first I need a sound system...
CJ: Hey, I'm down, as long as I don't have to go to the party.
OG Loc: What you talking about, fool? Guaranteed I start playing, everybody'll come through.
CJ: Being real, OG, I'm really ain't into rap no more. I'm more into that hardcore gangster shit!
OG Loc: Well that's me, homie, that's me! OG Loc, baby!
CJ: Yeah, yeah, for sure. But I only like them if they rhyme real well... Y'know, well... Anyway, what you want me to steal?
OG Loc: That's what I'm talking about, love for your homies... Now check it, I caught me a real fly sound system cruising through the drive-thru. I think they headed down to the beach for a beach party. Now check this out, I'll roll with you, and on the way I'll kick a couple of freestyles... (starts freestyling) It's OG Loc in the place, Y'all want to stop me with a gun in your face, OG! OG!
CJ: Yeah yeah yeah yeah, man, shut the fuck up. Maybe I need to do this on my own. I believe in you. Gangster 4 life, homie. 4 life!
OG Loc: Yeah - for life, homie...
(Carl reaches the party and is speaking to the DJ.)
Disc Jockey: Hey, what's crackin'?
CJ: Just hanging out, you know...
Disc Jockey: Well why don't you come out and dance?
CJ: Yeah, for sure!
Disc Jockey: Let's see what you got...
(After Carl proves his dancing skills, the DJ has a brief conversation.)
Disc Jockey: You got some moves, wanna come and chat?
CJ: Yeah, for sure, that sounds nice.
Disc Jockey: Let me take you into my office...
(Carl steals the sound van, a Pony, and is riding off with it.)
Disc Jockey: He's stealing the sounds!

Trivia
- The mission's name is a reference to the saying life's a bitch.
- The Pony in this mission is an unique one as it features off-road wheels, but Ponys cannot be modified at any mod garages. It can be obtained by driving it into a player-owned garage instead of the designated lockup and then blowing it up, failing the mission. The garage will restore it back to full condition then.
- The music playing during the opening cutscene is the same as in Manhunt 2, at the movie theatre during the mission Safehouse.
- Anyone at the party wields SMGs. They can be obtained by killing them but that will lead to mission failure.
