Mercedes Cortez is a character of the Grand Theft Auto series, who appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Mercedes Cortez is Colonel Juan Garcia Cortez's daughter, who is known for being wayward. Fairuza Balk voiced Mercedes Cortez in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Mercedes Cortez makes her first appearance in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in the mission The Party. She is introduced to Tommy Vercetti (the protagonist) by her father. Tommy and Mercedes go round Cortez's yacht and she informs Tommy who the guests are. Tommy later drops Mercedes off at the Pole Position strip club.
Mercedes, in the mission Love Juice, is driven by Tommy to the V-Rock studios in Downtown, Vice City. This was to allow Mercedes to party with Love Fist members Jezz Torrent, Percy and Dick. In the mission Recruitment Drive, she appears when Tommy drives her and Candy Suxxx to InterGlobal Film Inc film studios. Mercedes later co-stars in at least one film directed with Steve Scott, co-starring with Candy Suxxx.
Mercedes is set up as a possible love interest for Tommy, but the plotline is never explored.
