Newport

Newport is a district in upper parts of Staunton Island, Liberty City. It is a business district with several businesses around. Whenever the player crosses Callahan Bridge via Portland, then Newport is the first district entered. In 1998, this district was under the control of the Forelli Family and after a big gang war, with the help of Toni Cipriani, the Uptown Yardies take over the turf and still control it until at least 2001, during the events of Grand Theft Auto III. The docks are located here, City Hall is located here, an Ammu-Nation can be found here and jetties with boats are by the pier. A Pay 'n' Spray and one of 8-Ball's bomb shops are located here. Yakuza member, Asuka Kasen used to live in a condo by the docks and Toni Cipriani lived in a house here during 1998. An overpass bridge is also located in Newport, all the way towards Torrington.
