Phil's Depot is an area in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is, as the name states, a depot owned by redneck arms dealer Phil Cassidy. It is located in the southeast of Viceport. Phil Cassidy, a so-called Vietnam veteran and gun expert, lives in one of the houses in the compound in 1984. Phil's Depot contains numerous crates. He began living in his depot after he was "evicted" from his house on 101 Bayshore Avenue.

Role In Missions

Phil Cassidy gives Victor Vance missions from his depot.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Phil's Depot still existed in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. However, it played a more minor role in missions than its prequel. It has also fallen into a state of disrepair, with grass growing up from beneath the cracked cement. In some time between the events of GTA Vice City and GTA Vice City Stories, Phil had moved into The Compound and had renamed it as Phil's Place. Despite that, it is a significant place in GTA Vice City's storyline.

In the game's introduction, under the request of the Vance Crime Family, a drug deal between the Liberty City based Forelli Family, represented by Tommy Vercetti, Ken Rosenberg, Harry and Lee, and the Vice City based Vance Crime Family, represented by brothers Victor and Lance Vance takes place on Phil's Depot, probably because of Victor's familiarity with the place. The deal was a drug deal, with Victor Vance trading two suitcases of 100% Pure Grain Colombian Cocaine for two million dollars from the Forelli Family. However, unknown to the two parties, three men dressed in black were hiding behind the crates in Phil's Depot, ready to amnbush the deal. Just before the deal finished, the three men emerged from their hiding place and opened fire on the dealers, killing Victor, Harry and Lee. Lance fled in his Maverick while Tommy and Ken fled in Ken's Admiral, leaving the cocaine and money behind, which gets picked up and handed to Diaz, who presumably used them for his own gains and leisure. It is because of this ambush that the events of GTA Vice City take place.

The depot plays another major role in the Print Works asset mission Hit the Courier. In the mission Tommy, under orders from Ernest Kelly, goes to Phil's Depot to kill a courier carrying counterfeit money printing plates, who is arriving to Vice city via helicopter and is planning on landing at the depot, as the Counterfeit Syndicate use the depot as their landing spot when their agent with the printing plates makes her entrance into the city. Despite coming under heavy gunfire from the bodyguards of the courier, he successfully kills the courier and takes the plates back to the Print Works.

Vehicles

In 1984, Phil's yellow Walton (without any cargo) , is parked in front of the depot along with his Perennial, which is fire-attractive (for no reason, it explodes without smoking) in Phil's Depot. In 1986, a Rumpo is parked in the depot and a Mac-10 spawns next to it.
