Portland Rock
Portland Rock is a small island containing a non-working lighthouse within the boundaries of Portland Beach, Liberty City, in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. The rock is unreachable in GTA III; if the player manages to reach it, the player will be forced to slide down the island. Portland Rock is made accessible in GTA Liberty City Stories.
Description
Portland Rock is considered the fourth island of Liberty City located in east Portland, just not this populated unlike the others. In each appearance has changed as the lighthouse, in 1998 the rock had more vegetation in the trees he had and the short grass, like a lighter color which gave a better appearance. In 2001 the rock and has no trees or grass, in addition to its color becomes more opaque giving a very old look to the island.
Portland Lighthouse
Portland Lighthouse is the main point and probably Portland Portland Rock Beach with a very cheerful in GTA LCS (1998) as well as the island, its white and red with a small wooden dock at the bottom and stairs to the lighthouse gave an easier way. In GTA III (2001) and the lighthouse appears to be very simple with their new white and gray in addition to the dock disappears and the stairs are replaced by a flat surface leaving an inaccessible path to the lighthouse. In GTA III it is very difficult to access as already mentioned at the outset, whereas in GTA LCS is easier because there is nothing to do directly to the water slide for access to the lighthouse.
Influences
On the aspect that gives Portland Rock, you could say that is based in Barnegat Light or Abescon Light in New Jersey and probably in Romer Shoal Lighthouse by its appearance on a rock as well as Portland Rock. Also worth remembering that this version of Liberty City was also based in New Jersey.
