Roman Bellic is Niko's cousin who has lived in Liberty City for 15 years. Roman claims to be living the "American Dream" and that he has two women, four hot tubs and fifteen sports cars, but in reality owns a gritty taxi firm in Broker. As a result, he successfully manages to persuade his cousin Niko to move to the city using this deception. Roman is also heavily in debt with various figures around the city, like the Russian mafia in Liberty City. In one mission, he is hiding in a garbage can, where Niko comes to meet him. In another, he is in the trunk of a car. Eventually, his consistent irresponsibility causes his taxi firm to be burned down by Dimitri Rascalov, but Roman later opens one up in Bohan. After the player gets his relationship high enough with Roman, the player may use his phone to have Roman send a taxi to take you anywhere for free, though his availability is random. Roman is frequently referred to as "Fat man" by Vlad because of his weight. His notorious for his excessive gambling habits and is rarely attracted to the fast cars and shootouts as Niko and the others. Roman seems to have an obsession with breasts, as he references them frequently when he is with Niko. He is 31 years of age (according to his criminal record), meaning he came to Liberty City at the age of 16, and his date of birth is in 1977.
In the Deal ending of the storyline, he is killed at his wedding to Mallorie. In the Revenge ending of the storyline, Kate is killed at Roman's wedding instead.
He drives one of his company's Taxis, a Black Esperanto(named Roman's Taxi), as seen in the first missions in the storyline.
Roman is voiced by Jason Zumwalt.
