Sharks are animals in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They are real-life sea creatures that people have claimed to have seen in the waters of Vice City and San Andreas. In GTA San Andreas there is a file named "SHARK", hinting that sharks may have, at some point, been in the game. Sharks will not die if shot by the player.

Appearances

Sharks have appeared in two Grand Theft Auto games in the series: Grand Theft Auto:Vice City and Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas. Both of the games are in the GTA III Era. The Sharks look most like a Tiger Shark or Great White Shark.

GTA Vice City

Many players and fans of Grand Theft Auto:Vice City have claimed to have spotted sharks in the waters of Vice City. Some people have claimed that they're just mods but others have claimed to see them without the use of such mods while others say that they are just rare. However these creatures do in fact, exist in the waters of Vice City on all three versions of the game (PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox versions). These sharks cannot be killed by the player and will not attack Tommy Vercetti, in the water or on boat, even if you jump into the water next to it, it won't eat you or devour you. It isn't so easy to keep track of these sharks as they swim out to where players cannot go, and when they swim under they may dissapear. The place you are most likely to find them, is south of Vice City or behind the Vercetti Estate.

Sharks in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Much like Vice City, many players of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas have claimed to have seen sharks in the waters of San Andreas. Like the ealier game, they are said to be just mods, but others claim they're just rare. It is unknown if these sharks actually exist in the game, otherwise. Some people have stated that sharks actually attack Carl Johnson and kill him, others say they just swim away frightened. People have actually mistaken Dolphins for Sharks because they look similar in game. Like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the sharks in GTA San Andreas are invincible and will not die from gunfire. People have said that sharks are only found underneath the Gant Bridge. The IMG tool for gta3.img on San Andreas actually proves that sharks are in San Andreas because it states the shark.dff file is in the game. As seen in numerous videos, the shark doesn't even attack Carl Johnson and highly resembles a White Tip Shark.
