Shotgun

The Shotgun is a weapon tier featured in GTA II, GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories and GTA IV . It is a powerful weapon that takes both hands to use (with exception to the Sawn-Off Shotgun), but it is not powerful because it is incapable of shooting the player's foes at long ranges. While in-use it limits mobility - the player character is not capable of sprinting, and stands still when targeting. In all GTA Eras, if the player shoots a pedestrian with a shotgun, this causes him/her to be blasted into the ground, and this can be really effective by shooting a moving vehicle, this blowing it up in two shots. If the pedestrian carries a shotgun, he/she, too will shoot at the player, making the player harder to take down his target, and much easier to be killed. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the player doesn't get blasted away by a shotgun-wielding pedestrian, but can still suffer damage. It'll require about three shots before the vehicle explodes.
